Starcom: Nexus from Wx3 Labs is a striking looking open-world space action adventure and they've been looking into getting it running on Linux.
In a post on Steam, one of the team noted they're using Unity making it possible but "some testing and fixes are expected". They went over attempting to test with a live Linux USB stick which has enabled them to see it running, and they mentioned to reply to post if you have the game and want to test the Linux version.
Hopefully their continued testing goes well, as it does look great. As a big fan of space sci-fi, I'm always in the mood for another game just like this. See the trailer below:

The game looks very appealing to me. Very interesting to read that all that was needed to consider a Linux build was a USB stick with Linux.
I often thought that the option to put Linux on a thumb drive (not only as a "live image" but as a fully functional Linux system) and give it away (to friends, not strangers because you should not use USB sticks from strangers) is underused as a way to promote Linux:
"Here is a fully working Linux system for you! Just boot from it. It will not interfere with your system. And I have put a Steam game on it for you!"

I've wishlisted it too. The update says "if anyone wants to test, reply to this thread", but there are no permissions to reply on that thread. I'm guessing it's locked down to only allow replies from people who own the game, but it sure confused me!
Love these games - both the top-down space shooter and the modular approach, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this!

Yep, my mistake. I was testing from work, where I almost never access the Steam store. It had long since logged me out of the browser I use there!
