Things are getting a bit medieval in Dying Light, with a new Chivalry crossover event that's arrived with some new free goodies to grab.

Running until December 16, this event has some new random encounters available as you travel through either the Slums or Old Town. One of the event quests needs you to take two airdrops from Rais' men, this will reward you with a Agatha Medieval Shield. The other new event quest will require you to save some helpless people from monsters and bandits, help some survivors in their fight against the undead (both parts need doing twice) and that will reward you with a Zweihänder Sword.

Neither of which are difficult to find, just run around for a few minutes and you will get a little map notification that people need some help. If you've played Dying Light before, you would have come across the type of encounter many times already. The above picture I took is one such random encounter, that would go towards the "Help brave survivors slay the undead" part of the event quest.

You can see their fun trailer for the crossover below:

The big community-quest is to complete these new random encounters together with everyone, with a total of 500,000 of them being done. If this is achieved (and such things in Dying Light always are), you're given a Docket containing a special Knight-errant outfit.

During the event, Dying Light is 66% off on Steam and I highly recommend it. One of my favourite games from the last few years! You can also find the new free Chivalry Weapon Pack DLC here.

Techland really spoiling us with events lately, at least two per month in Q4. They also fixed bugs in the Linux version... unexpected and very appreciated!
Well worth it to participate in the events, the previous Hyper Weapons event gave a permanent Hyper Mode bat as community reward. :D

I love this game but unfortunately I've been having some performance issues with it. Things like random FPS drops and stuttering. I have a pretty powerful PC too, so not sure what's causing it.
