Is there seriously another big sale going on already? Yep! This time it comes with a FREE game too. GOG are offering Wasteland 2 Director's Cut at no cost.

Firstly then, the Wasteland 2 Director's Cut Digital Classic Edition going FREE on GOG which also comes with Wasteland 1: The Original Classic so you're getting two games for nothing here. That should keep you busy enough through the colder Winter nights.

Something GOG don't do often is a bundle of games where you get a bigger discount, if you buy more. This is back with the 2019 Indie Gems Bundle so you could pick up titles like Indivisible, DUSK, Pathway (and more) to save some extra cash when picking them up together. GOG also have a Paradox Interactive Bundle, allowing you to do the same. Before you decide on that one though, it may be worth comparing with the Humble Paradox Bundle first.

Want a helping hand at picking a new game? Here's some top-quality indie games going cheap:

Perhaps you're after some classics that were revamped and given new life with updated versions and Linux support? These are also cheap and good:

Additionally, GOG Connect is back with new games for you to redeem a free GOG copy if you own them on Steam. Games included: DUSK, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Through the Ages and Galaxy Trucker - always handy to get an additional DRM-free backup.

See all the Linux games on sale at GOG using this link. The sale will continue on until January 2, 2020.

Connect isn't seeing my steam copy of Dusk -- first time I'm running into this problem; previous Connect transactions had never caused a hiccup.

Thanks for the tip on Wasteland!

Always liked GOG, but sadly, even their new beta client doesn't have a Linux version. It's not likely the platform will ever come to Linux. Still, happy to add Wasteland 2 to collection.

If your experiencing crashes in Wasteland 2: Directors Cut at the loading screens, enter the command "ulimit -n 4096" into a terminal and then run the game via that same terminal window, probably best to make a bash script if this works for you.

Yeah, I like GOG, but it feels like a one-way relationship. :| These days, I wish itch.io got more attention from publishers.

Anyone here played Pathfinder and really liked it? It's only $16 right now. How does it compare to Pillars of the Earth as far as pacing and difficulty go? I like Pillars, but it feels like a large commitment to sit down and play it, so it's taking me forever to get through it. Instead, I've been playing other games that have no end like WoW and Oxygen Not Included. (Maybe I just need to swallow my pride and set the difficulty down to Easy and play through the story.)

As long as they are treating Linux users as second class customers I won't frequent their shop. They want my money they have to give me the same service they give anybody else.

I really liked pathfinder. I'm not very good at CRPGS, i usually fail in my first 2 playthroughs even on normal/easy. I went into Pathfinder without knowing anything about the tabletop system, and got stuck quite a lot of places even on story mode. I definitely feel like Pathfinder is a lot less forgiving than Pillars of Eternity or Wasteland 2 for example.

I'd agree about Pathfinder. It does things a little differently to Pillars. I never really got stuck into Pathfinder the table top game either, I prefer DnD myself.

Mine didn't pick up at first. But a few minutes later it showed and I was able to claim it.

I found that the better way is to edit /etc/systemd/system.conf and /etc/systemd/user.conf

In both files change the line:
#DefaultLimitNOFILE= to DefaultLimitNOFILE=32768

Note the removal of the #. Since I made that change, the game has only crashed on me once.

As a side note, kind of disappointing that a game that I paid to back on Kickstarter that I never got around to playing until now ends up being free in the middle of me finally playing it.
