Chasm, btw? Absolute excellent! Like Hollow Knight with pixel graphics, only better gameplay (no constantly working back to your shattered shell) and faster progression (I still have a few abilities to collect though) and less weird characters/atmosphere. It also features different weapon types and the enemies are generally less frustrating to deal with.
I realise that sounds like I'm shitting on Hollow Knight, but I really enjoyed the game, but couldn't get past its frustrating failures.
Chasm is really superb.

GOG client not supporting Linux should be stated somewhere to advice newbies to no expect a proper full desktop experience like itch.io or steam itself.

I am wary of the procedural generation in Chasm. It rarely works well - although Sundered nailed it, much to my surprise. It always seems to be an excuse to avoid hand-crafting levels. Does Chasm tie it well enough to the story?

Yes, definitely. IMO campaigns from expansions are even better than standard campaign. The Witcher series - 70%-85% off. Pretty good price to get TW3 for Wine.
I have everything Witcher except the expansions to TW3. Are they worth getting?

I bought X4: Foundations in the winter sale and it is in a very good shape now.
As GOG does not really support Linux and it is cheaper on Steam....
The game is amazing and I play the open Beta of Version 3 - it does not feel like a beta. It works well, sometimes the german translations are missing in the tutorials (there are tutorials now!) but that doesn't matter for me.
If you search for a great space game with full Linux support, take a look at it!

I had no idea this game used procgen! Does it procgen the maps?? If so, there must be many elements of "fixed" map layout, since all the puzzle elements feel hand-crafted. The game is much easier than Hollow Knight, but still challenging. Actually, "easier" might not be the right term. It's more what I outline above - progress is more obvious, there's a levelling mechanism that makes earlier areas easier to visit and it's much clearer when am area is blocked off because you haven't unlocked an ability.

Yes, surely get them. You'll get the GOTY edition automatically after that, so just use it instead.

From the first line of the Chasm game description on Steam:
"Explore the depths below a remote mountain town in this procedurally-generated Adventure Platformer. "
Thanks for your review. I have been burnt on a number of games lately that people were enthusiastic about, so I am taking a wait-and-see approach to a lot of them...
