GAMELAB today released Tank Maniacs, a very intense multiplayer party game for up to four players. Your task is simple: eliminate the competition in any way possible and it's really quite hilarious.

A game for when you want things to be a little less serious perhaps? Tank Maniacs would certainly slot into your gaming schedule nicely there I think. You don't need to have other players with you, thankfully, as the AI can be quite menacing I found during my time playing it. If you livestream games on Twitch, they also have a fancy Extension you can try which helps viewers get involved.

István Kolbert (CEO, Gamelab) said "Tank Maniacs brings together some of the most creative developers in Hungary to give players an unmatched 4-player couch co-op experience. But Steam is only the beginning. In 2020, expect to see Tank Maniacs on all current-gen consoles – including the Xbox One X and One S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, and Nintendo Switch. Couch co-op has never been this fun – and with the addition of the Twitch extension, this unpredictable. We hope PC gamers everywhere will give Tank Maniacs a chance and help us make the game even better."

Feature Highlight:

  • Couch madness for up to 4 players
  • 8 beautiful levels with unique features
  • 11 wonderfully weird tanks (including the Thanksgiving “Turkey Tank”)!
  • 12 wacky characters
  • 4 game modes + team based variations
  • Dynamic commentary
  • Unforgiving AI bots
  • Twitch integration with in-game voting
  • Fun, cartoony art style with hand-drawn graphics
  • Punchy electro-rock soundtrack

With the holiday season coming up, if you're going to be having people over this is an absolute must-buy for some proper laugh-out-loud fun. Some of the tank power-ups you get are completely ridiculous! Since your attacks can hurt you as well as enemies, it really can be amusing.

The thing is though, thanks to Steam Remote Play Together, games like this that would otherwise only support local multiplayer can be played online with anyone.

Tank Maniacs is a huge amount of fun. It has everything you could want in a fast-paced chaotic action game like this from varied game modes, maps and power-ups. My favourite has to be the dragon tank, spewing fire everywhere, although the UFO pictured above is pretty hilarious too. Never a dull moment.

Check it out on Steam now where it's 35% off until December 12.

I've been after a 4 player couch game since I discovered that Duck Game doesn't even start. This one might fit the bill nicely.

Cool little game indeed! They even have a #steamremoteplay channel on their Discord.

Looks like a lot of fun. I can't help but think that it's like real-time Worms!
