Humble Bundle have today replaced their Humble Monthly subscription service with Humble Choice, offering subscription tiers and more.
Additionally, they're also now doing regional pricing. You're not forced into USD as it now supports EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and NZD. Even though the top tier is more expensive than the old system, it's still a good deal. As a reminder anyone who keeps up their existing Humble Monthly get it at the older (and cheaper) price. Here's the tiers on offer now, :
- Choice Premium ($19.99/mo or $179.99/yr): Your choice of 9 games each month to keep forever, access to Humble Trove, and up to 20% off games in the Humble Store.
- Choice Basic ($14.99/mo or $134.99/yr): Your choice of 3 games each month to keep forever, access to Humble Trove, up to 10% off games in the Humble Store.
- Choice Lite ($4.99/mo or 44.99/yr): Access to the Humble Trove, up to 10% off games in the Humble Store.
The first month of Humble Choice has these games as options:
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Blasphemous
- Ancestors Legacy
- Phantom Doctrine
- Dead in Vinland
- Horizon Chase Turbo
- Dark Future: Blood Red States
- X-Morph Defense
- Aegis Defenders
- Desert Child
With the Humble Trove, there's around 90 DRM-free titles you also get access to with all levels of the subscription. A lot of them support Linux too and you can download them any time. These titles include: Dungeon Souls, SOMA, Orwell, Tacoma, Renowned Explorers, Deponia, The Penumbra Collection, A Short Hike and many more.

Probably a decent month if you don't have SottTR already, but nothing much if you do.
However, the "Classic plan" faq says that you can pause without risk of losing classic, so that's very nice!

I did indeed pause this month. I haven't bought Shadow yet, but intend to pay full price when I do. Nothing else on the choice menu stood out, so it's a miss-a-month from me.

The DE is just a bundle with the normal game and the extras, so the key will have the Linux version.

I checked Linux support on Steam and these have Linux support:
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Horizon Chase Turbo
- Desert Child
As for Proton, lot of silver, Dark Future: Blood Red States and Aegis Defenders don't have reports, Dead in Vinland is platinum.

Apparently Dead in Vinland has a public Linux beta branch: http://deadinvinland.com/2018/12/18/linux/
This came as a surprise, I had this in my wishlist for a while but never bought it as it had no Linux support on the store page - but it actually has had a branch for close to a year. I'll give it a try and hopefully send a positive report to the devs to make them a bit more confident that they could consider it ready for production.

Yes, they still are (mostly) Steam keys. Sometimes there is also a DRM-free download also, and if the game isn't on Steam at all it's usually a DRM-free download (with occasional exceptions that are well noted, like Overwatch).

What I read that providing Steam keys is up to the developer. And developer has to request the keys from Valve and Valve has denied few requests.
Trove seems to be just DRM free downloads. So if you cancel your subscription, you can't download new copies, but in practice get to keep what you have already downloaded.

They label the base game that way now, but it's not the bundle. You still have to upgrade to get the rest.

Apparently Dead in Vinland has a public Linux beta branch: http://deadinvinland.com/2018/12/18/linux/Those plus Shadow make this a reasonable month to not pause for me, and Desert Child might be a solid bonus or no.
For the service change, I like that everything is visible up front now and Classic maintains it as a good deal to keep, but I'm not sure how I feel about the pricing tiers. Lite feels like a fairly niche thing for most people as $45 or $60 per year for trove and a 10% discount feels a bit skimpy. Basic is more or less how I, and I suspect most of us, operated month to month on Monthly with a scant handful of the available games being of interest most often. $20 for more or less the previous status quo feels a bit heavy an uptick but it's hard to judge from where I sit. I kinda hope they made pausing less buried with the other changes but I'll find out at a later point.

It does seem to work great, I've played it 6 hours so far without any issue.
I can't seem to log into the wiki to edit the page though; my gamingonlinux.com website credentials don't work, and MediaWiki account registration seems disabled.
