PULSAR: Lost Colony is a fantastic idea for a game, always has been but it lacked a good experience for new players and it was easy to bounce off it. Giving each player a dedicated role on a spaceship, this co-op game can be a lot of fun.
Shouting orders at each other with one playing as the Captain and others as the Pilot, Scientist, Weapons Specialist and Engineer it can be quite a riot. If you've always wanted to be part of a crew and travel the galaxy together, this is a fun choice.
Thankfully, now you actually get a proper full tutorial to teach you the ropes. Take a look:

In addition to a full tutorial, there's now an in-game tips system too. They show up when loading and respawning, from a random pool of tips. Personally, I like games that do this, however many don't use it very well and give you the most basic of advice - hopefully here they will tell you things that aren't so obvious.
A major visual addition in the latest update also adds in Moons, sadly you can't walk around them like planets but they're a nice graphical improvement seen from space and the surface of the companion planet. Just that little bit of extra eye-candy.
Great to see PULSAR continue to expand, as a big fan of space sci-fi it's been fun to watch this grow from a real basic game into a huge co-op space adventure.
You can buy PULSAR on Humble Store and Steam.
I don't really either, but should that stop us from playing a cool game? We know we at least have ONE thing in common.
I get what you mean, however this game is built heavily around multiplayer, playing it solo would be quite hard and probably boring/a chore.
On top of that I live in Australia which makes it even harder to find people to multiplayer with. Perhaps its playable with 300ms ping? but often not.
I've been meaning to play this for a long time. Anyone up to form a crew?
I'm up, I currently live in UTC -7 and typically am available Friday-Sunday in the evenings or Mon-Thursday from around 5-8pm.
That would be tricky, since I am UTC+1, meaning your evening is my late night. And then there is the ping issue.
