Sometimes I come across a puzzle game that really sucks me in with a fancy trailer, The Last Cube is one such game.

A 3D puzzler, one where you're moving cubes around doesn't exactly sound like much but you have some seriously clever looking tricks and the presentation here is absolutely fantastic. It throws many unique mechanics as you, and as you progress previously introduced features get twisted.

"The Last Cube is our largest game project yet," said Oskari Liukku, Improx Games's CEO. "Everyone we have showed it to has been amazed by it; we promise to deliver a challenging, but doable puzzle experience with pretty environments to boot."

Check out the trailer below, I think it looks awesome:

What's interesting, is that across the 100 planned levels you're not following an entirely linear route through the puzzles. There's going to by some exploration involved, since levels will hide secrets and other optional challenges you can play through. On top of that, there's even bonus levels to unlock.

As for the Linux release, I spoke with Improx Games today who confirmed The Last Cube will be releasing with Linux support.

There's no release date being mentioned yet, so I will let you know when it gets one. For now, you can follow it on the Steam page.

Looks great! Reminds me a little of Steamroll, which I enjoyed a lot, but which unfortunately doesn't have any secrets to explore, making slightly too linear.
