Chaotic 8-player action is coming to Linux later this year, as Beyond Fun Studio have managed to get successfully funded on Kickstarter for their amusing looking game Aeolis Tournament.
With physics-based gameplay, a tournament mode plus local and online cross-platform multiplayer it sure does look like it's going to be a huge amount of fun.

Now that the campaign is over, they're planning to launch it in May. However, they're clear that's not set in stone and could change as they don't want to rush it but they are "confident" with the current state of their build that they can make a date in May. They will also be attending PAX East which runs from February 27 to March 1, where they will be showing off a brand new demo so they will be adding plenty of spit and polish to it.
Their team already provided us with a key, so we will be taking a good look at it when it's ready. I can't wait to try the Football mode! We've also added it as yet another successfully funded project to our dedicated crowdfunding page, now listing 293 games in total.
Until release you can wishlist/follow Aeolis Tournament on Steam.
I've had so much fun with my girlfriend playing Mario Party locally, this sounds like something for me :D
