Recently, Metro Exodus ended its Epic Store exclusivity and Deep Silver (the publisher) confirmed it was heading to Linux. In a recent Reddit AMA (Ask me anything), the developer 4A Games mentioned the Linux port too.

In reply to a comment asking about macOS/Linux they said this:

[…] Throughout DLC development we've also been very busy working on various platforms for all of the Metro series. We recently confirmed the linux version and will reveal the launch date for that soon. […]

Really great to see it get confirmed multiple times now, strange though how they were so quiet on it before it hit Steam to no be so willing to talk about it when asked. Having all the Metro games on Linux is going to be great though, a full series for us. Seems it's had a warm reception on Steam too, with it now having a "Very Positive" user rating from well over ten thousand people.

Once they do talk about dates, we will let you know. Will you be picking up a copy when it's out for Linux officially?

You can check out Metro Exodus on Steam.

The good thing about game development is that you can work at home... Another Linux depot activity detected.

Pretty torn over here. EGS's exclusivity is a no-go for me.
But I'd like to support a Linux version ASAP.

I know I am late to this conversation, but someone just linked me to it. I would like to point out that although they took an EGS exclusivity, the previous Metro games have been released on Linux DRM-Free. If the next one does also then it would seem there is more good-will than bad in the company.

Weird I rarely hear people complain about Steam exclusivity.

That's because although some choose to do so, Valve has never paid anyone to keep it off other stores.

Judging for the frequent Linux depot activity, the Linux port is around the corner.

Now I have my doubts about the Linux depot activity:
*Or the port is coming soon.
*Or they are facing serious technical issues that they cannot solve.

Yet he's on Stadia.
The Linux version shouldn't cause that many problems.

It's still on the way.

You're right...
Actually, the Linux depots are no more encrypted, they are visible to the public.

Is SteamDB token dumping trusted?
Comandante Ñoñardo Jun 17, 2020
Two weeks without Linux Depots activity....

I don't know if that is good sign, meaning that the Linux port is ready for to be released during the Steam Summer Sale, or if it is a bad sign, meaning that they are having technical issues impossible to solve..

I wonder what mean nvidia_testing_rls from last week.

I'm concerned. This is taking too long IMHO.

Finally! More Linux depots activity.

I wonder what means ds_testing_a

When I saw there's a new post here, I expected to read that there's no activity anymore for months now and that they most probably have given up on it.

Another month has passed
Looking at the depots activity, they are working in the OSX port.

But first They need to fix general game bugs, like the night vision bug in Caspian episode.
