PayPalIt's been quite some time since we last had an open discussion about what you've all been playing recently. Let's get things going again.
We've almost finished the second month of 2020, we've had tons of Linux games that have released this year already and a huge amount more on the way. Now with the rise of game streaming, Steam Play Proton and more options appearing constantly there's never a shortage of gaming to be had.
Personally, I've been getting back into the deck-builder Faeria (Humble/Steam).
With the big recent patch, it gave me a new reason to pick it up and I had honestly forgotten just how good the gameplay is. Building the board as you go really does spice up the usual turn-based tactics, as does the single-player content that's quite plentiful. Gamepad support that was recently added has also made it more accessible than ever. Crafting a good deck of cards is always the hard part but Faeria is fun to learn.
So, over to you: what have you been playing recently and what do you think about it?

I decided to fill my last free weekend for the next... months? with a playthrough of Life Is Strange 2. Tight time schedule, one part Friday evening, two on Saturday, two today. It does work out and yes, the game was absolutely worth my sparse time!

Hi Liam! i was playing Pioneer, and really love it. It is a game very unpolished and with a lot of rough edges, but can be nice when you want something relaxing to play

Just finished Unavowed with proton. Great point & click, writing is the best i've seen in many years.

I've returned to playing 7 Days To Die, after a reasonable time away from it. I watch Youtuber Glock9's series where he plays 7 Days, and he recently started one called "Horde Every Night Ramblin Man" and using the map seed "80085". I decided that I'd like to play on the same map myself, and also play at the same difficulty level "Warrior", so that as I watch the series I could see if I spot places in his game, that I recognised from my game.
Have to say, I was playing on "Nomad" difficulty before, and though that is pretty hard, I have new respect for Warrior level: I died about 5 times (and restarted the same map from scratch) because "Warrior" was really bad, particularly as you start off with no skills. Note that I consider myself an experienced player in this game after 100s of hours of play.
Glock9's series has had 3 episodes, so far (episode 1 is linked above). I've seen most of the places he has been exploring, in my own game play. Whereas he has played for 3 game days, I've played for 36 game days (so I've been in this world much longer, already). I am not playing like him: Horde Every Night - I'm doing 7 Day Hordes. Ramblin' Man - I'm building a Home Base and using Storage. Finding it very challenging at Warrior level.

I've been playing almost exclusively Vintage Story since you got me addicted to it. The only other game I've played recently is Horizon Chase Turbo with the family and when friends show up.
Still waiting for Nvidia to fix the no-hair rendering bug in Deus Ex Mankind Divided to pick it back up and complete it.

Actually I am mostly on
it has become a great game and is a lot of fun for me. But IMHO I am glad, I bought it as Beta 3 was in a good shape.
With watching a few tutorials and being eager to explore things, you can have hundreds of hours of fun with it. And they do support Linux very well.
And of course I am on
this is also a ton of fun for me. Even if it could be made a bit more up to date with graphics and so on.
I am also on TW3, but honestly, I do not like it as much as TW1. I am not that motivated to play it a lot. TW1 was the best game in the series. The best story and the best characters.

I've been offered "Metro Exodus" with the 2 DLC, so I'm playing it through Proton (and the last update allowing DX12 to work is doing a good job so far)! This game is absolutely fantastic, I don't understand why some people thinks the open world is not in the spirit of Metro: in this large open world, totally deserted, I just feel so lonely, I watch everywhere to avoid monsters, making me really nervous. I just find it so immersive and much less linear than the previous games. However the IA is terrible.
On a native game side, I've been quite nostalgic with "Oddworld : New 'n' Tasty". This remaster totally worth it, the game's soul is preserved and the graphics are up to date. As old games, I find it more difficult than modern games.
