Drive away your worries this week with the demo of 'art of rally', an upcoming top-down stylish rally game from the creator of Absolute Drift.

While there's no current set date for the final release, the demo at least does work very nicely and it's a lot of fun already. You get to try out two iconic rally cars with one from Group 2 and one from Group B, across a mixed gravel-tarmac stage from Finland full of jumps and all sorts. There's multiple weather conditions implemented too like fog and rain with different times of day as well.

With the full version due sometime later in the year it's going to get "50+ cars, 60 stages across 5 different countries, a full career mode, daily and weekly challenges with leaderboards, and a soundtrack by Tatreal" so there's a lot of gameplay to look forward to if you're a racing fan.

Even with the ability to see ahead a little, thanks to the top-down perspective it's still thoroughly challenging. I've been messing around with it today with the Photo Mode which enables you to freeze-frame and take some pretty cool snaps of your run like this:

Try the demo over on itch.io and also follow on Steam.

I had to wishlist that - look at how smooth it is. I hope you can zoom in a little further though, maybe tilt the angle up a bit. Lovely.

As a classic Slicks 'n' Slide fan (and Race Arcade / Little Racers Street etc) this is once again 5 / 5! <3

This has been on the top of my wishlist for a while. I only tried two runs, but so far it shows a lot of promise. Also, just look how cute those bite-sized rally cars are! <3

Wonder if it will support custom cars so I can create a little Baas 99 Turbo and beat Stig Bloomist?
