Jumpala, a very unique and super-fun take on a competitive platformer that's captured my heart continues getting bigger and a fresh update is out with a new mode.

"JUMPALA is a fast-paced competitive game that's all about strategy, superpowers, sabotage, and stage control. Jump on platforms to turn them your color and collect points before reaching the top. Build your Special Meter to activate your character's special moves and gain the advantage. And whatever you do, don't fall off the stage!"

The latest build that went out a few days ago adds in a single-player mode, so you can now easily play 1v1 against the AI. A nice touch, and the developer will be expanding it as more characters and stages are added in. That's in addition to both local and online multiplayer (with AI support) that it has. We already mentioned here recently that it was heading to Steam, and if you were planning to pick it up you may want to do so soon as the price will be rising.

Also teased was a new character coming, although they're not officially revealing it yet there's apparently a secret way to unlock them in the game right now. See the announcement here, which also links to a few others doing videos on it (including ours!).

You can pick up a copy now from itch.io for a DRM-free copy plus a Steam key when it's released on Steam, otherwise wishlist/follow on Steam.

Jumpala is quickly becoming a regular game I play, since it's super-accessible with really easy to learn controls and it's thoroughly engaging when you're playing. True laugh out loud fun as you're constantly hopping between platforms, while trying to mess with the other player with your power.
