With some fun sounding 4CPT physics (4-way contact point traction technology), DRAG looks to be a great racer and it's getting a demo soon.

As the Steam Game Festival comes closer, more developers seem to be announcing their confirmed participation in this huge online event. Taking place between June 9 - 15, Orontes Games announced DRAG making the cut on Twitter. DRAG only got a Steam page a few months ago, after being in development for a few years now using their own custom tech.

More info:

DRAG introduces a new kind of vehicle-physics. Have you ever noticed how cars in many racing games pivot around their center? With our 4CPT-technology and soft-body tire model we simulate every component of the vehicles in real time, down to the grab-mass of the tire profile. Resulting in realistic, dynamic behavior. Driving fast on loose surface without driving aids is exciting, challenging and ultimately hard to master. The driving feel is pure.

While we don't yet know exactly what's in the demo, we do know of their plans for the full game which includes these features:

  • DRAG combines arcade style racing with vibrant driving mechanics.
  • Even though DRAG is not a simple arcade racer, it's designed to be played with a gamepad or keyboard. Support for racing wheels will be added in Early Access.
  • 24 Singleplayer challenges
  • Multiplayer wheel-to-wheel racing in online or split screen matches

Follow DRAG on Steam. Once the demo is live, we will happily take a look and let you know what it's like.

Another game that recently announced a demo for the Steam Game Festival is ASYLUM.

Sweet! I’m very picky with racing games, so it will be great to get a feel for it ahead of release.

I'm extremely hyped to play this and I'm not even a huge fan of racing games! It just looks insanely satisfying though. They look like robot cars...
