Another week down, most of us are still in lockdown with the Coronavirus and there's plenty of time to play games. Playing games can be a truly wonderful way to get your mind off everything too!

Personally, I've been very surprised by Iratus: Lord of the Dead which recently left Early Access with added Linux support. The mix of party-building from body parts, with reverse dungeon crawling as you're trying to escape is quite a wonderful. It's quickly become my new go-to game for a few rounds, replacing Slay the Spire. Apart from that, jumping into a few rounds in PUBG on Stadia (article info - see video) has proven quite fun.

Over to you in the comments!

What have you been playing recently on Linux and what do you think about it? What's tickling your fancy this weekend?

Playing Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance and after having played Shadow of the Tomb Raider at launch back on Windows, I am playing it again since somehow my save from Windows is gone.

It has been a long time since the game released so I can finally replay the game again on the Linux port.

Destiny 2, all day long. Not sure how to make it stop.

Oh, and the funny thing is Destiny was for me "one of those games" tied to Windows that I knew I'll never play and didn't cared about...until I tried it on Stadia. Now it got me sucked into it, totally.

Gratz! I upgraded this week from the RX 580 to the RX 5700 XT.

Why did he sold his 2 week old GPU?

I hope to get back to playing Iratus: Lord of the Dead this weekend.

I have really enjoyed playing this turn-based roguelike role playing game where you take on the role of The Lord of the Dead leading your undead minions into battle with the humans. Liam wrote a great review of the game here.

After over twelve hours of play time and many hours watching Let's Play episodes on YouTube, I feel as though I am just starting to get familiar with the beautiful interface, the complex mechanics and the fantastic builds that the game has to offer.

Bridge Constructor Portal. Nice game to play for an hour and leave it when there's no time, easy to come back to. Not great, but good. Lacks some polish.

I've been beating my head against Filament mostly this week, for that sweet sweet dopamine hit from finally figuring out a new puzzle…though Noita also came out with a big new update…and I really want to get back to playing XCOM: Chimera Squad…the release of which interrupted my playthroughs of XCOM 2, Stellaris with the Federations expansion, and Cities: Skylines with the Sunset Harbor expansion…

Meanwhile my sister's complaining about being stuck at home and not having enough to do. I just don't get non-gamers. :P

Quoting: MrNilssonI'm going to play Planet Zoo and some CS:GO this weekend.
Do you mean playing Planet Zoo on Linux? (And if so, how?) I've been interested in it since it was announced, but it's been listed as borked on ProtonDB since release, though I just checked and see two positive reports.

Bought Halo Master Chief Collection 3 weeks ago! They've remastered Halo Reach which was the first to be released in the collection and it looks and runs great on Proton! I finished it two weeks ago.

Halo CE was also remastered, but the remastering is still basically using the 20yr old game engine so it is looking a bit dated, but geez, the Halo ring top-level and the internal dungeon areas have been really "re-worked" and look magnificent!
heres a youtube vid showing the difference... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXfBNYHzVZA

The MCC will release up to Halo 4 throughout the year. Halo 2 Anniversary addition is getting remastered "again!" and will be released this month as part of MCC. So if you own MCC it will automatically download.

Halo MCC Remaster includes:
1) Halo Reach - Released
2) Halo CE - Released
3) Halo 2 Anniversary Ed - Releases this month
4) Halo 3 - Pending this year
5) Halo 3 ODST - Pending
6) Halo 4 - Pending

1 and 2 above works perfectly at least on Proton 4.11-13 with mesa 19.2.8 with R9-290X out of the box!
I can't use the newer Proton with my type of card until I upgrade to mesa 20.x apparently according to Kisak from Valve.

With both games it never went below 60 fps running on the enhanced (remastered) setting. It ran smoothly!
You can toggle the original and remastered to compare using TAB key while playing to see the huge difference.

I'm really impressed with Proton and the remaster!

Is the multiplayer working in the Master Chief Collection now? I heard it wasn't working because of Easy Anti-Cheat. Either way I'll probably pick it up anyway.

Just finished TW3 main story. Now playing Hearts of Stone.

Been playing through and finishing off Assassins Creed: Odyssey, runs great with Proton.
It's a beautiful game, and with the Steam Controller it's a joy to play too, it's just a bit sad that their UI messes up rather badly if you try to use a proper mouse config for aiming - so I'm making do with a mouse-like joystick.

After having finished Ciel Fledge once (thanks again for the article covering it, otherwise I would have never known about that game), I've made the mistake of buying Elite: Dangerous (Steam Play).
I've spent an unreasonable amount of time with that stupid game, just farming stuff to upgrade ship parts to at some point maybe depart from human space to explore the great unknown. Where I probably will get bored, because there's just endless repetitions of the same procedurally generated stuff...

About Ciel Fledge: I really enjoyed my first playthrough, even though the game has plenty of story and balancing issues. Some activities are basically useless (skill requirements = maximum skill they allow to train), but the game doesn't tell you beforehand. Sometimes the story has weird inconsistencies. Some are minor, like
Spoiler, click me
Ciel calling Helen the "guitar girl" when they first meet, but not knowing about the instrument when they see each other again, and even not being able to remember the instrument's name.
Some are pretty major, like (warning: major spoiler)
Spoiler, click me
the government of Ark 7 at the time of the attack of Ark 3 suddenly being a different one when talking about the incident later. Almost like the attack cut-scene was already final when the writers changed their mind about the situation...
But yeah, those negative points are easily made up for by the game's general mood and gameplay.

I don't think I'll have to write about Elite: Dangerous. It's that kind of game that has you waiting for hours and hours, just staring at remaining time counters slowly going down... All that for some occasional adrenaline rushes and beautiful vistas.

Why did he sold his 2 week old GPU?

My friend bought a new pc with this card in it thinking that it will be good enough for high quality vr but in the end he was not satisfied with the card so he got a more powerful one.

For me a rx 580 is more than enough. Especially that i play overwatch, civilization vi, rocket league, some old games on emulators...

Quoting: KuJoPUBG in Stadia.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. :D

Can you play that together with friends on Steam in some way?
No, PUBG on Stadia is Stadia to Stadia with keyboard/mouse or Stadia + Consoles if you're using gamepad.

So but at least you should have PUBG on Linux and a cheater free experience I guess.
I am sure, cheats will come (perhaps some Chrome plugins that fake a Controller while playing with mouse and keyboard or whatever)

Is there a way to play with friends that are on Stadia?

Quoting: RedneckI streamed some Saints Row 4 2 hours ago and I will be mostly playing csgo with my team! We're always on the lookout for new players. DM if interested!

What does team mean in your case?
Is it more like a clan, with training and so on? Or is it more to have a few friendly guys to play with from time to time?

Cheating is practically impossible. Even with plugins, it's still not something it can really analyse since it's a glorified video feed with input. I will be amazed if it's somehow possible. It's another reason why Stadia for multiplayer games is quite interesting.

Yes you can play easily with friends on Stadia, it has a friends list feature and leaks from the Android app have shown text-chat in the friends list is coming soon too (it already has built-in voice chat).

Nothing much at this time, I still have to finish the main campaign of Hitman 2016 and the main campaign of Anno 1408 but I prefer fiddling with Godot, I had an idea in my head for some times and I had to exorcise it.

Using only Gimp, Blender & Godot, I'm amazed of how far they've come in term of quality, usabilty & performance compared to paid product, I don't regret anymore my 3dsmax + photoshop combo, adaption was pretty quick and in the end Blender modeler and Uv unwrapper is so much better IMO.

Concerning Godot, I love it. It reminds me of the late Virtools which became 3dvia Studio that I used when I was a student.

So far so good, I suck badly at texturing, I lack the patience needed to paint all the little detail by hand and using shaders in Blender is a long process when you don't really know what your doing...

After watching hours of Iratus let's play, I finally got convinced to try it, and I find it very interesting so far (never been attracted by Darkest Dungeon, to which a lot of people compare Iratus).

I also tried MtG Arena through Lutris (finally understood how to play a game with Lutris, yay !), but the latest update broke it and I would have to go through all the installation procedure again, and I don't think it will be worth the effort...

I am currently playing Lichdom Battlemage, which I bought years ago and never really played, and so far I am enjoying it. The craft-your-own-spells system makes for interesting combinations.
