My first PC was my mom's (She used it for work). It was an NEC V20 8MHz 640k. I think we got it in 1986, I had to learn to read to use it :-D
I did actually play a pirated copy of eye of the beholder on it, but was too young to really get into it.
I still struggled to spell words in Space Quest (English was not my first language).
The screen was orange.

Excellent question! In my case I "exploited" my older brother who bought that computer for his programmation courses. He's 13 years older than me so...
What programming course is he taking that he needs an Apple 2 ? Really curios now.

I dont think so. I met a lot of old people in college and work that talk about all PCs that they used back in the times, and only a few use linux this days. I believe that a lot of then still have the ideia that linux its really complicated like those days

This doesn't suprise me. I just fear that among younger people, the result would be even (way) worse...
