It's the weekend and hopefully some of you will find the time to relax and play some games. There's been a lot of new releases lately too!
For me, I'm a little torn.
The new Stoneshard update is really good, filled full of new content to play through and a lot of new weapons to try out. The brutal combat and setting certainly takes getting used to, along with the health system. I've lost count on the amount of times I've died in it over the last few days.
I also want to play a whole lot more Burning Knight simply because it's so incredibly fun to blast through. So much insane action when you manage to build up a list of items. Just look at how ridiculous it can be!
You know what? I'm clicking Play on Burning Knight as soon as this goes up…
Over to you: what will you be clicking on across this weekend and into next week? Let us know in the comments and suggest some good picks for your fellow GOL reader.

X-Plane 11: Testing the updated (and super buggy) Ultra Weather XP add-on in Linux (and in Windows, BTW).
Battlefront Bad Company 2: Via Proton, Still my favorite BF thus far. It's always bugged me that I never got good at sniping in that game, and now Im finally (and satisfyingly) passable...
FTL: I occasionally go back to this since I'm a space and sci-fi person, and because I think I should like it, but I can never escape the feeling like I'm playing a gigantic spreadsheet, and that if I lose, it's because I don't have the encyclopedic knowledge of the races, parts, and ships that's necessary to plug into the Sheets/Excel battle to win... Is "Bomber Crew" more fun? Where's my Battlecruiser 3000 remake for the 2020's, but fun?

I forgot how stressed out I get when playing city management games. The one thing I hate the most is managing traffic, no matter how many roundabouts I add, or how much I widen the lanes, or how many routes I add, there is always jams somewhere which slowly kill the cities I make.
Quoting: OdisejI use Ubuntu 20.04 for Wine games that don't run via Proton on my Debian.Quoting: omicron-bStar Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (Wine)
Did you manage to solve the issue with music not playing?
Back on 18.04 I had to install
libmpg123-0:i386
for some games to have sound, this package provides MP3 support in 32-bit Wine prefixes. On Ubuntu 20.04 it is already installed, probably as a dependency of Wine, so everything works out of the box for me.

Quoting: PatolaQuoting: mylkacrucible is still workingAnd it is really pretty. Its performance is also good. Hope it stays playable.
Unfortunately, for me the game is barely playable ; I only get around 40-50 fps at low details. My friend is playing on Windows 10, same GPU as me (Geforce 1070), but he recently upgraded to a Ryzen 3700x, and he is getting ~80 fps in high.
Not sure if the difference lies in the CPU, Windows vs proton, or both... But it seems that even Windows users are complaining about low performances.
I am also looking at Monster Train, which seems cool but has minor issues on proton, and Adore, but there seem to be no reports on protondb yet.

Also , X4 if I get the chance!
Quoting: NanobangSubnautica via Steam Play has been an absolute blast! The world is beautiful and complex, but the UI is simple to learn and use. It's the first game that makes me wish I had a VR rig because it has VR. Swimming through an alien ocean in VR ... how cool would that be?
I love Subnautica too and can't wait for Below Zero to be finished. Regarding VR,
I tried it and found it really scary. I definitely don't want to meet a Leviathan while in VR...
It is currently 50% off on GOG.
Quoting: GuestNo Linux nor Windows for me this weekend. Only C64 games :D.I think you win the thread. :D
Some Turrican, Krakout and The Yawn (probably one of the funniest text adventures of all time (only in German)).
Turrican is sheer class. (And that's from a Spectrum kid.)
Quoting: CorbenHonorable mentions are Synth Riders, OhShape and Pistol Whip. All nice rhythm based music VR games, which give you also a nice workout. There is even YUR integration for BS, SR and OhShape from within the game, to count your burnt calories. And the Synth Riders as well as the OhShape devs are looking into a configurable 3rd person cam by my request, so a mixed reality stream would be feasible.Lately I have been sucked into the YUR community. Closing the fitness center due to corona was a big enabler, but now I am becoming addicted. What YUR stuff can you actually do in Linux (besides Beat Saber and Discord)?
Yeah, not native Linux games, I know, but GTFO works flawless (platinum rating) and Beat Saber is whitelisted by Valve for Proton.

- Factorio - I'm loving it since I started yesterday, building and progressing is a lot of fun but the missions are a pain.
- Starbound - Using the FrackinUniverse mods. Tons of fun, slowly building up my base/Trinkian robot army.
- 7 Days to Die - Started this week. Zombie vultures are flying demons, they chase me for miles until I find shelter or manage to kill them off.
- Volcanoids - I think I will like this a lot too, but the amount of tasks you need to manage early on is overwhelming and will take some getting used to.
What do you guys think?
So much so that I have actually stopped again - I want to finish the other games I got running and give this one 100% focus. It is... CRAZY. Not just for a VR game, but for games period.
That means some more hours into GTA5 - I'm still not 100% convinced about the three protagonist idea but it's better than I feared it would be. And else it's very classic GTA vibes. And the fantastic radio stations. A reason in itself to play this game.
And I end most evenings with a round of virtual table tennis - on Eleven: Table Tennis VR. Very cool game, good virtualisation of the game.
