Need a desktop PC crammed into a laptop powered by Linux? Linux hardware and Pop!_OS distribution maker System76 have you covered, with the reveal of their new absolute behemoth the Bonobo WS.
What can you expect from it? You get the latest 10th generation Intel Core i5, i7, or the mighty i9 processors. You can pair it up with a top-end memory capacity of 128GB so you can make it handle pretty much anything you throw at it. System76 said the NVMe M.2 storage takes advantage of the PCI lanes, resulting in fast load times and a fluid OS experience. If there’s a need for larger files, up to 3 separate drives totaling in 24TB in NVMe storage will handle the load.

It's no slouch on the GPU side either with options including an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, 2070 Super or the massive 2080 Super. You're going to need that power though, as you're able to equip it with a gorgeous and big 4k 17.3" matte display. All that power, which you can carry around with you, absolute madness. It's not really targeting gamers though:
"We’re excited for the possibilities that the Bonobo WS opens up for anyone who needs a portable Machine Learning tool," says Carl Richell, Founder and CEO. "The ultra-powerful CPU and GPU options when paired with the vast amount of NVMe storage make this a desktop-performance computer in laptop form."
That said, there's nothing stopping you using this as a movable power-house of Linux gaming. With those specifications, you should be able to get a huge amount of gaming done with it. What's also exciting is that System76 are continuing their push for open source too, with the Bonobo WS launching with System76 Open Firmware and the System76 Embedded Controller Firmware. This should give you speedy power and boot times and they give "code-level access" to low level functionality for things like keyboard, fans and battery.
