After what seemed like a crowdfunding campaign that might struggle, Girl Genius - Adventures In Castle Heterodyne was comfortably funded passed the initial goal.

Coming from Rain Games creators of Teslagrad, World To The West and the soon to release Mesmer, Girl Genius - Adventures In Castle Heterodyne is their upcoming character-driven action-adventure metroidvania. You play as the main protagonist in the Girl Genius series, Agatha Heterodyne.

Against the initial $200K campaign goal, they managed to reach the finishing line with $256K. Thanks to the funding level, multiple extra feature goals were hit so they're going to be adding in additional characters. There seemed to be some excitement when we covered this before, so hopefully plenty of our readers will be happy to see another Linux game funded and on the way.

Since it's fully funded we're listing it now on our dedicated Crowdfunding Page.

You can follow their development on Kickstarter. No Steam page is live for it yet, we will let you know when it is.

I talked to one of the devs. When I mentioned I was happy they will support Linux, he just said "Of course 🙂"

I lost credibility in this dev, not only World to the West is outdated on GOG, I sent them an email to notify them of the incident and I've been given no reply whatsoever.

Unfortunately I don't think about buying this one until they update their previous game.

I asked a developer about this on their Discord server, and he said he thinks GOG is only missing some Windows-only controller fixes. What sort of issues does the game have on GOG? If it's the missing gamepad glyphs, that's an issue on Steam too, and I know they were looking into it recently.

I like the opposition's singed feet left behind.

Thanks for doing that, I gave a quick look at the changelog and it's a bit more than just controller fixes:

If it was just a controller fix, they wouldn't bother updating the Mac version too. Anyhow even though I'm disappointed, as a fan of their games and customer, I'd be happy if they'd just update the game and treat everyone equally.

Would you mind going the extra mile and forward this information to them (the screenshot of their own changelog)? It would be appreciated.

Yeah, it's no trouble at all; I'll forward it to them.

I only now noticed that GOG's forum software doesn't seem to support permalinks for posts at all.
