This is seriously cool. Monochrome RPG is an upcoming comedy adventure about a lone comedian with an art and animation style that looks like a 1920s animation.
Monochrome RPG, they say, is a "pun-filled black and white 1920s cartoon-styled comedy narrative adventure series where you'll perform on stage, entertain enemies, and build your own acting troupe". In development by
The Monochrome Workshop, they're a global group of creatives working on it together while commissioning various others to work on different parts too.
What they have so far looks really impressive. Have a look at their footage of the demo:
Direct Link
You can help fund it on Kickstarter where they're trying to get at least $15,000 by December 4. The campaign only started off saying Linux was a "potential" platform in one of the images, however after speaking to the developer they made this more clear in an FAQ post and confirmed Linux support. A little more honestly than most too, with them listing platforms in order of priority. They have demos up on itch.io but no Linux build on it yet.
Some characters look like they are lying on the floor, looking towards the ceiling.
While the main character looks like it was drawn with a kind-of isometric perspective.
The walls look like the camera has a fish-eye perspective.
Every piece of furniture seems to have been drawn with a different perspective in mind.
Nothing fits together, really.
I honestly got a slight headache from watching the video.
But I have the same with the old Ultima games...
