Running until November 2 at 5PM UTC, the Steam Halloween Sale event is now live. There's plenty of great games going cheap, and multiple games running special events too.
Need a hand picking something out? Here's a bunch of spooky suggestions for you:
- SOMA - 90% off
- Outlast - 85% off
- Left 4 Dead 2 - 80% off
- Alien: Isolation - 75% off
- Darkest Dungeon - 75% off
- 7 Days to Die - 66% off
- Dying Light - 66% off
- Don't Starve Together - 66% off
- The Long Dark - 66% off
- Barotrauma - 50% off
See the full event page here. The Steam Points Shop has also been refreshed, with a bunch of Halloween 2020 items like an animated avatar, an avatar frame, profile background and emoticons.
As for games running events there's plenty of that too like Dying Light, The Long Dark, and too many others to list here. I can easily recommend Dying Light though, their events are always thoroughly entertaining. You can get a big list of Halloween Events here.
Feel free to share your top picks in the comments and let everyone know what you think they should be grabbing.
I played the demo for the second game in the series and was hooked. The average giggle and/or laugh per minute played is ludicrously high. A warning though, the dialogue is a little bit raunchy, but it doesn't seem to go much further than just dialogue. No naughty bits where shown in the demo, and I expect monsters have some really naughty bits!
Probably best experienced in short bursts, so I will dole it out in small doses when needed, just as I do with my emergency cake supply.
* Just a guesstimate!
Protondb says it should run well once a few small fixes are applied.
Other than that there's simply no games playable on Linux left that I really want!

Quoting: BigJI bought Stellaris out of curiosity mainly, since I don't have much time for video games! Can anyone suggest a good game on sale which can be played in short sessions?
Stellaris is quite a time sink, luckily there's no one more turn effect, so you can quit at any time. There might not be much progress during a short session though.
As for other games, good game is bit subjective, but I spotted at least Overcooked 2 (playable in single player, but should be even better with friends), Poly Bridge, The Stanley Parable, Kingdom Rush (I didn't check how many of them are sale) and Mini Metro. There's probably lot more.
