Never missing an opportunity to run a big sale, Valve have put together a big fighting game sale including multiple genres with lots of games going cheap.

The sale includes straight-up 1 on 1 traditional fighting games, side-scrolling beat 'em ups and a whole lot more in between. There's some really nice picks there too, although the special event sale page they setup makes finding what you want a little difficult with only a few basic genre categories.

Here's a few on sale that support Linux with builds:

Them's Fightin' Herds gets an honourable shout-out too being on a 40% discount, as they're getting really close to releasing their official Linux version.

When it comes to 3D fighters, it's a genre that Linux support sorely lacks. Thankfully with the Steam Play Proton compatibility layer, many more are possible to play just not supported directly like Street Fighter V (60% off), TEKKEN 7 (75% off) and DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT (50% off).

See the full sale page here, it runs until November 16.

Be careful, Vanguard Princess port is broken and it does not run with Proton or Linux Runtime.

Good to know. I looked a bit further, and it looks like even on Windows it's an absolute mess with lots of complaining about it. What a shame.

I've got Overgrowth, its like 24GB download or something which is odd as it feels like quite a small game. Just has small levels joined together for the story, mostly empty levels also. No voice either.

Its a fun little combat game with fun jump mechanics, but really makes you wonder why its 24GB.

Street fighter V works great on Proton too.
Main critic for this game: it asks too much question, too much menus before to start a fight.
