Ova Magica, a blending of casual farming in the spirit of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon blended with monster taming and battling like something out of Pokemon is now live on Kickstarter. It managed to get fully funded within the first 2-3 hours, which I'm really not surprised about. The early tech demo was promising and it has such a great idea.

Thankfully it's another that will support Linux too and the developer has been very clear about this. The Kickstarter campaign also lists it nice and clear as "The game will be released on PC DRM-Free, on Steam (Windows, Mac OS and Linux), Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.".

You can expect quite a few features from Ova Magica including farming, cooking, crafting, creature collection with you hatching blobs from eggs, romancing other characters, a an "active time" creature battle system, creature breeding, exploration and going on special expeditions and much more. It sounds like it's going to be quite a big game.

Their initial goal was €20,000 which has already been met easily. They do have some stretch-goals listed too, so when the funding hits different levels the will commit to more features including a marriage system, character customization and more to be revealed. Given the rate of funding, it will probably hit €40-50K quite easily I would think.

Check it out on Kickstarter and follow on Steam.
