The free and open source game engine Godot Engine has a huge new feature release out, so big they had to change the version number and they have some big plans for long-term support.
Originally planned to be 3.2.4, it got so big with new features they branched it to a whole new build with Godot 3.3. Since Godot 4.0 is going to be a major change, with advanced rendering features and Vulkan API support, they're going to keep supporting the 3.x branch with plans in progress for a Godot 3.4 release in Q2/Q3 this year.

As for what's in Godot 3.3? A ridiculous amount including:
- Godot editor on the Web
- Threading API modernization
- HTML5: Threads, GDNative, AudioWorklet
- Unified 2D batching
- New CPU lightmapper
- Improved FBX importer
- WebXR support for VR games
- OpenXR plugin
- MP3 loading and playback
Hopefully more developers will begin to use it, especially since it's completely free and open source with no royalties needed - along with great multi-platform support for both the editor and for exported games. The team say that Godot 3.3 is compatible with Godot 3.2.x and they are actually recommending users to upgrade.

I've been using Godot for my game for over a year now, and seeing how much this engine has grown in comparatively so little time is impressive. Having Linux as a true first class citizen is one of its biggest appeals to me. In comparison, Linux support in Unity is in a very sad state.
Quoting: setzer22Very excited about this update. With Godot 4 being in this long-term "almost there" state, it's very welcome to see so many needed features reaching the stable branches!
Godot 4 is ambitious, for what I've seen it will be in this "almost there" state for a long time to become a RC, or even a Beta. There's a lot of work for the team.
Godot 3 is already capable, this 3.3 is a very solid release
