Looks like the next Humble Choice bundle is going to be reasonably good, with Metro Exodus headlining.
Now that there's a Linux port available that performs well, this might perhaps entice a few people into Humble Choice to pick up a good deal. Usually it costs $39.99 on Steam without any discounts, so the Humble Choice for May is a good way to get it which usually costs about $19.99 for the whole set. Humble have also announced that for May's Humble Choice there will be Darksiders Genesis, Hellpoint, and 9 more games so it seems like overall it's going to be quite a good one.
Additionally, they announced a big discount for new subscribers at $9 a month for three months, if you sign up before May 4 which is when the next bundle lands. It's not clear what region that discount is for (might be US only), as in the UK it's showing me an offer of 40% off each month for a year. Either way, looks like May's Humble Choice will be worth picking up at least.
Check out the Humble Choice if interested.
I don't know for other people but even with a GeForce 2070 SUPER on Debian Bullseye (KDE) I faced dozens of crashes on Metro Exodus. Looks like the port is a bit sloppy given the testimonies on Steam. However the game is damn beautiful... when it works.
Don't worry about it; saying it's a bugfest is exagerated, but still lots of annoying bugs on Windows too. I did 2 playthrough and witnessed lots of crashes.

However the game is damn beautiful... when it works.Seeing mixed reports apart from the current AMD issues which will be solved in Mesa. For me, the crashes I've had all happen on Windows too from lots of Windows user reports. I've been very happy with the performance but even on Windows it's super buggy overall - but still also somehow a great game.
I guess I don't count as a new membership if I subscribe again...
Well, €13.99 for 3 games is still a good deal as I would like to play Metro Exodus.

So I shouldn't even consider buying this with 1080. Gotcha.

From what I'm reading the Metro game has issues with AMD RADV atm. This is not surprising since its a NVIDIA first game. One of the reasons I never bothered to buy it.
It actually runs fine in medium settings on a mobile Geforce 970m @ 1920x1080. No idea why you would think you need a 3080? Maybe at 4K?They're probably referring to Ray Tracing.

I guess I'll wait and see what small games are bundled in May bundle and then let that be a tie breaker. A small indie game can often be a lot of fun.
I'm not expecting RayTracing to be viable on 6800xt nor 7800xt when that comes out.

Exactly this, I'm sure my 2080 would play it just fine if I turned off Ray Tracing, but seeing how it's one of the few games that'll actually use it in Linux and in general, I figured what the hell? :)It actually runs fine in medium settings on a mobile Geforce 970m @ 1920x1080. I'm assuming I've been lucky, but on my RTX2060 Super (laptop) it's been running fine while I make my way through the game (Pop_OS! 20.10 with Gnome).
a) How do we know these games will be in next month's choice? (see below)
b) If I join after May 4th, do I miss those games or do they remain part of the sign up month?
c) If I join and then quit, how many months do I get charged for?
Thanks!
Edit: I found the answer to (a) in this blog post:

(Liam, a link in the article would have helped).

a) Unless they say something, you don't find out until it's there.
b) You can get it for the entire month. The blind thing was while it was "Humble Monthly". Now you can just see if it is something you want.
c) You get charged for the number of months that you get. However, if you purchase multiple, you can "pause" to skip a month and it won't be deducted. My year subscription lasted for 2.5 years :D
