Looks like the next Humble Choice bundle is going to be reasonably good, with Metro Exodus headlining.

Now that there's a Linux port available that performs well, this might perhaps entice a few people into Humble Choice to pick up a good deal. Usually it costs $39.99 on Steam without any discounts, so the Humble Choice for May is a good way to get it which usually costs about $19.99 for the whole set. Humble have also announced that for May's Humble Choice there will be Darksiders Genesis, Hellpoint, and 9 more games so it seems like overall it's going to be quite a good one.

Additionally, they announced a big discount for new subscribers at $9 a month for three months, if you sign up before May 4 which is when the next bundle lands. It's not clear what region that discount is for (might be US only), as in the UK it's showing me an offer of 40% off each month for a year. Either way, looks like May's Humble Choice will be worth picking up at least.

Check out the Humble Choice if interested.

Quoting: JuliusIt actually runs fine in medium settings on a mobile Geforce 970m @ 1920x1080. No idea why you would think you need a 3080? Maybe at 4K?
They're probably referring to Ray Tracing.

It's currently 60% off on fanatical ($14.79 US) if anyone is interested, but wants nothing to do with "humble" bundle.

I'm two minds currently about this bundle. I found previous Metro games to be just ok, but my GF was crazy about them. She doesn't have the graphic card to run this one, though. Both Darksiders Genesis and Hellpoint have local co-op, might give us a chance to play something together, so far we haven't found something we both enjoy, other than few rounds of Tekken 7 from time to time.

I guess I'll wait and see what small games are bundled in May bundle and then let that be a tie breaker. A small indie game can often be a lot of fun.

I may get the Humble Bundle when it becomes available, I have a 6800xt here and play at 4k, but I hear its still crashy on AMD. But some people manage to get it working I guess. (crashes happening due to memory leak or something).

I'm not expecting RayTracing to be viable on 6800xt nor 7800xt when that comes out.

Exactly this, I'm sure my 2080 would play it just fine if I turned off Ray Tracing, but seeing how it's one of the few games that'll actually use it in Linux and in general, I figured what the hell? :)

My rig is rather old except the GPU but with FHD a 1080 is clearly enough. (Given the stability issues I had, I did not even try to turn raytracing on)

Quoting: gojulI don't know for other people but even with a GeForce 2070 SUPER on Debian Bullseye (KDE) I faced dozens of crashes on Metro Exodus. Looks like the port is a bit sloppy given the testimonies on Steam. However the game is damn beautiful... when it works.

I'm assuming I've been lucky, but on my RTX2060 Super (laptop) it's been running fine while I make my way through the game (Pop_OS! 20.10 with Gnome).

Sadly, no one is really talking about Hellpoint, which I think is quite a fun game! I just had other games I wanted to beat before I sat down and played it. But it is pretty fun / interesting.

Could I get some advice? I have never done the humble choice thing (I have so many games).

a) How do we know these games will be in next month's choice? (see below)

b) If I join after May 4th, do I miss those games or do they remain part of the sign up month?

c) If I join and then quit, how many months do I get charged for?

Thanks!

Edit: I found the answer to (a) in this blog post:

(Liam, a link in the article would have helped).

a) Unless they say something, you don't find out until it's there.

b) You can get it for the entire month. The blind thing was while it was "Humble Monthly". Now you can just see if it is something you want.

c) You get charged for the number of months that you get. However, if you purchase multiple, you can "pause" to skip a month and it won't be deducted. My year subscription lasted for 2.5 years :D
