Ready to grab another bundle of interesting games? Humble Choice for May is up now with Metro Exodus being the big headliner game this month.

Humble Choice (previously Humble Monthly) gives a selection of games for subscribers to claim and keep each month, with it usually having a few big games plus a few smaller across different priced tiers to claim different amounts.

The choices this month are:

  • Metro Exodus - Linux supported
  • Hellpoint - Linux supported
  • Fury Unleashed - Linux supported
  • Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3
  • Darksiders Genesis
  • Family Man
  • Levelhead
  • Morkredd
  • Relicta
  • Retimed
  • Size Matters
  • Vane

Not a big selection for Linux native titles but looks like a nicely varied selection overall. Some of the others will likely work in some form with Steam Play Proton.

See the Humble Choice if interested this month.

A friend gifted me Metro Exodus from his bundle. I can confirm that it's possible to use Google Takeout to transfer the Stadia save game file and use it with the Steam version. This is a one-way path however.

I'm glad I don't have to redo the time I put into the "free" copy I got on Stadia.

Edit: I can't seem to get the GNOME top bar to vanish, preventing me from properly playing this game. Enabling the "hide top bar" extension causes metro exodus to launch 1/2 way up my monitor.

Edit2: I can resolve this if I disable my second monitor before launching the game. Re-plugging in the second after the game launches does work as expected.

I've tried out Fury Unleashed (Linux native) and Levelhead (Proton) so far.

Metro Exodus is running at very low FPS for me. Anyone having the same problem?

On your hardware, it should be smooth as butter. Maybe try a different compositor option in Mint's settings? But I never had to change it from the default when I was on Mint. Perhaps it's a driver thing - your card supports Ray Tracing, so perhaps trying turning that off?

Use Steam like this to make sure everything runs on your NV gpu, instead of Intel igpu.

Thanks guys. I'll give your suggestions a go.
