It was only a few days ago we mentioned that Death Trash, which looks simply incredible will be getting a demo for the Steam Next Fest soon but we now also know it will enter Early Access on August 5.

With a fleshy gruesome post-apocalyptic world, Death Trash is six years in the making. While still unfinished, the developer believe the foundation is solid enough now to get it properly out in the world with gameplay that "feels satisfying and is complex enough, a good amount of content, a solid framework and tools, many design problems figured out, platform features implemented, and a plan where we want to go with the game".

"Death Trash features a world where cosmic horrors long for humanity but meet punks with shotguns. Influenced by post-apocalyptic, horror, and cyberpunk classics but with a fresh personality of its own. Death Trash combines the crunch and depth of old-school, role-playing classics with the controls and game feel of modern games."

There will also be the preview demo at Steam Next Fest from June 16 to June 22. The Early Access version to follow will have a lot more content.

Yes the development takes long. But to defend them, they are a small independent studio from Berlin/Germany that have their office in the so called "Saftladen". The "Saftladen" is an office community with several different small independent game studios.

I happened to stumble over the Saftladen location when I was visiting Berlin for a conference - the office was in the same building as the pre-conference location (though it seems they have moved in the meantime).

I still regret that I didn't just knock on the door - the location is home to several amazing indie game studios, including one of my favorite developers Studio Fizbin (The Inner World series), inbetweengames (All Walls Must Fall), noio (Kingdom series), Maschinen-Mensch (The Curious Expedition) and several individuals having worked on games such as Unmechanical. And Death Trash of course, so get back to this article.
