Do you hear that? It's the War Thunder! It's back with another huge upgrade named "Red Skies" which comes with plenty of new toys to play with across different nations.
When it comes to new vehicles there's around 30 of them spread across aircraft, ground vehicles, helicopters and navy. There's two whole new locations one for mixed battles in the "Red desert" and a naval location named "Drowned city", the latter of which looks like a really interesting play to sail through. The changelog, for such an update, is as long as you might expect for a bigger game like this. Absolutely tons of small fixes, balance changes, damage model updates, physics updates and the list goes on. See the trailer below:

They also completely overhauled their VR to use the OpenXR standard! However, I have yet to be able to actually get it to work with my Valve Index, it just seems like it doesn't want to run on Linux. The normal desktop/flat version? Great! Enjoy it a lot. The VR side just seems to not work on Linux. Shame but now it's using OpenXR perhaps they can work on it.

I am at level 100, I have maxed out my main tree and slowly working on top tier grind. There is no end in sight. Every time they add a new vehicle I need to grind more.
Invest time to Invest more time for a minute of good fun. Truly a hell of it's own

I have been playing WT for years now, but I rarely do top tier and prefer the mid-tier encounters instead. Way less frustrating, way more varied gameplay. I find it much more enjoyable to try out all the different nations.

If you don't want to risk paying for premiums that will depreciate in value, don't buy expensive brand new premiums, it's as simple as that
If you feel like you GOTTA grind top tier vehicles (which hardly are where most people consider the fun to be), you can instead put talismans on regular vehicle that face the same balance as everything else, and if you want to grind credits, many lower tier, very old premium vehicles that haven't had their balance touched in years are are the best ones at grinding credits anyway (the brutally cutthroat gameplay at high tiers with high repair and ammo costs is just really bad place to make credits, period). The only real reason you should ever spend $60 on a high end premium is if you have particular interest in the particular vehicle; they aren't meant to be better than other vehicles, and whenever they end up to be, it's considered a failure and majority of the community calls for the rebalance.
