I already knew I liked this from the demo / Prologue they released some time ago. A wonderful hand-drawn colourful art-style mixed with some very clever and challenging puzzle design, there's a lot to love about this one. Easily one of the best puzzle-platformer designs I've come across in the last few years. Prepare to have your brain and reflexes challenged, as some of it really is quite difficult and may need multiple attempts to get it all right. If you do decide to play it through, keep in mind the early part is pretty tame compared to what comes in the later hours, it definitely lulls you into a false sense of security there.
What I really do like about Unbound is that there's no direct combat. While you do use your portal powers and the environment to overcome obstacles and plenty of enemies, you don't actually attack anyone. It's all about the journey, finding out what happened and how you get through the puzzles with you portal-spawning prowess.
This portal power works in many different ways and that's what makes it interesting. Giving you a big circular window into another world there might be extra platforms, no enemies, it might turn something harmless into a big scary creature and more. I'll admit, that using this power as genuinely made me jump a few times when I wasn't expecting to see something inside. A huge amount of fun to play through because it's so varied.

Nice to see another game from Kickstarter get a full release so we can cross it off our list.
Not at the level Hollow Knight is for me but I enjoy `Unbound: Worlds Apart` so much. Way more than I would have expected. The 1 HP + puzzle mechanics are brilliant!

i can't answer for Sakuretsu, but personally i have found myself using proton over native more often than not. Somehow the games just seem to run smoother for me (maybe it's my weaker CPU benefiting from Vulkan). In the past at least you got more graphics options using proton than on ports, native should be like for like although im not sure how many native titles feature RTX / DLSS so far vs proton. You are always guaranteed a level experience when your running proton and there is a certain comfort knowing that. Anecdotally i have found v-sync to always work on proton where as by native titles sometimes it's not totally 100%. Maybe it's an engine issue on unreal / unity linux versions or maybe it's my display manager getting in the way.
So yea, native vs proton isn't always a binary choice for some people.

My personal experience with native ports wasn't that good in the past, but actually my main reason is just "research".
I'm just testing different things and seeing what happens.

I also installed the native version of this game after testing Proton and it also runs nicely.
Again, I'm trying to have a picture of the current state of Proton's compatibility with Windows games so I can have more options.
I also tried Transistor and it runs beatifully.

But first, I need to git gud at Dead Cells and finish it properly. This one comes into my wishlist for now.
