Creative Assembly announced today that Total War: WARHAMMER III has been moved from late 2021 until sometime in early 2022. We know that it's coming to Linux officially too, which Feral Interactive recently confirmed (again).

Posted on Twitter and Steam with one of those annoying text over image delay posts (at least it wasn't bright yellow like we saw with Cyberpunk), it said:

"With nearly a decade of development on the Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy behind us, it feels surreal to see its culminating chapter so close to release. While it's tempting to rush to the finish line as it comes into view, we have made the decision to give it a little more time by moving the launch of Total War: WARHAMMER III from 2021 to early 2022.

The wait won't be much longer, and we'll have plenty of new information for you in the meantime. The new date will make for a stronger release and the best first step into a new era for Total War: WARHAMMER. We don't consider this release the end of our trilogy, but the start of years of content and support as we continue to bring the jaw-dropping scale of Games Workshop's fantasy universe to Total War" - Rob Bartholomew, Chief Product Officer.

A shame to be sure but no one wants to see another buggy release. They also mentioned that tomorrow will see "the global reveal of Grand Cathay".

You can pre-order from Humble Store and Steam.

The past couple weeks, I've just been watching goofy History channel things on YouTube. Ran into one about Rome, and thought 'I should play Total War: Rome finally.' but then as I was looking in my Steam Library, I thought, "I should play Total War: Warhammer II first...

Looking forward to this one.

I blame Twitter's nonsensically short character limit.

I can't do Twitter. All I can think of at the notion is "But my walls of text!!!"

Yeah, not a fan. At least something like Reddit, I can liken to Usenet Groups. Twitter to me seems like all the useless notifications you get on your phone that you have tried your damnedest to eliminate...
