You have money left from all the previous sales right? Well, prepare your wallet (again) for even more sales from two of the biggest stores around. Both Steam and GOG have their Halloween sales live, and of course there's almost no-end to the discounts.

Over on Steam, the new sale page actually highlights at the top various in-game events going on which is incredibly useful for those who want to dive into them and as you scroll down there's game after game to choose from. The special page also has various easy category links.

GOG meanwhile setup a few staff-picked lists including the Tricks collection, the Treats collection, the Scariest Discounts collection (best deals) and the Bestsellers collection featuring GOG's all-time hits. Every 48 hours GOG will also have special Flash Deals.

Personally, I'm getting seriously tempted by DEATH STRANDING on Steam as it's 60% off and seems to work well with Steam Play Proton nowadays and it seems it hasn't seen a higher discount yet. If you find a truly good discount, be sure to let your fellow readers know in the comments. As always, we're curious to know what you're picking up.

The Steam sale lasts until Sunday November 1 at 5PM UTC and the GOG sale goes on until November 3 at 2PM UTC.

Also there's a couple of new bundles on Fanatical's Halloween Sale with a decent proportion of Linux games in them:

Budget cuts 2 is 45% off for those with vr.

Also if you have been longing for the alien isolation mod mothervr to work on Linux - which it sadly doesn't. Then you can console yourself with Adam Isolation, a new game mode in budget cuts 2.

He does seem to randomly spawn behind you though, be prepared! :)

I bought it, couple of minutes ago, before reading this article...
The Walking Simulator. I bought this on the PS4 back when Sony didn't release PC games. 😜

Every time I think of it, I think of the conversation in Clerks II about Lord of the Rings vs Star Wars...

I heard Death Stranding called a walking simulator so many times, it actually put me off buying/playing it. Then I saw Corben streaming it, and realised that the whole thing was just a joke. Bought it and sank some hours in. Great game.

Ha, it's a sort of joke. I mean you have to balance out your steps and such as you're walking or you fall over... Not sure how it works on the PC, but that's how it was on the PS4.

Well, yeah, sure the act of walking/balancing is an early gameplay mechanic. But "walking simulator" as a game genre means something entirely different. Indeed, it's usually used as an insult for a game with no engaging mechanics at all, no danger (no health bars, no death), little to no interaction... all you do is walk around. That couldn't really be any further from Death Stranding, where death is remarkably easy, the walking mechanic, strapping luggage to different parts of your body, crafting, RPG elements, open world exploration, vehicles... and later in the game, guns/grenades and full on fire-fights.

But I thought it was literally a walking sim genre game and was put off buying it!!
