Paradox only recently talked about a bunch of changes coming in the free 3.2 update and now they've announced Stellaris: Aquatics Species Pack as the latest DLC.

When they give out more info on it we'll let you know. Just like the 3.2 "Herbert Update" there's no set date yet.

If you play on Ensign difficulty, the AI does not get buffed, and is relatively challenging because the AI will use optimal build orders and prefer tech to go to war within the first 30 years.
(Plus, it always feels weirdly irrational. I'm thinking to the AI, like, don't you have a planet to colonize or something? Go get the real estate that's free for the taking, why are you bothering someone who will fight for it?! I mean, sure, if you happen to be next to a ravening horde, fair enough, but otherwise . . .)

Anyone tried this already? It replaces pops abstraction with absolute numbers. And removes all performance issues in the process. I want to try it next time I start a game.
