When Techland released the Hellraid DLC in August 2020 inspired by their unreleased dark fantasy slasher Hellraid the reviews were not kind, as it was very basic but they've kept at it and another big update is out now.

"The aura on the other side of the portal is changing… As Lucius’ lost ancient power was flowing through Hellraid, awaiting an adventurer who could tame it, it has found a new vessel. Prove your dedication and mastery of your skills to get hold of that raw magic, and you’ll grasp might beyond understanding. Are you worthy of holding the Fire Wand, the weapon allowing you to command flames themselves? Enter the hellish dungeon, and face the trial."

This fresh free upgrade brings with it a new map section to explore, a new skill that gives you a Fire Wand, three new potions and you will also be able to access an armoury when you finish the imprisonment quest. They also list "minor tweaks and bug fixes".

Hellraid has come a long way since launch. The added content along with massive improvements over several large updates has been impressive. It's bloody fun and quite spooky, those skeletons aren't exactly noisy and the ambience is fantastic with gorgeous lighting and creepy ambient soundtrack. :)
Good choice for Halloween times!

I still haven't sat down and played Hellraid, as I beat the game long ago and always find it hard to go back just to play some DLC, is it worth it?

Have we gotten any word about the second one being native to Linux?

That reminds me that I haven't gone back and played the DLC that came bundled in the sale where I got Bioshock Infinite. I have to do that at some point. I've had some recent obstacles that have curbed my game playing. I'm hoping to get back to some of the games I was playing soon.

Well it's not even native on Windows yet, being released in December I think. But AFAIK there have been zero words on a Linux release, they keep on doing patches of the first game for Linux though so at least they are honouring that version.

My comment above yours should answer that question. :)
In my opinion, it's worth 10€ (currently 30% Steam sale for a nice 7€ price). Can even be found cheaper on some key selling sites, if you wish to brave that option.

On the topic of Dying Light 2 and Linux support, Techland remains elusive so there hasn't been a definite answer either way. At this time we are not expecting Linux support outside of Proton, which we also haven't heard much about yet.

The revised Dying Light 2 release date is February 4, 2022 since some time ago. Essentially Techland received tons of feedback on the gameplay seen in the Dying To Know episodes and decided it needs more tweaking to flow just right, so it was pushed 2 months.

Keep an eye out this month as certain DL profiles will be getting beta versions for testing and showing the community!
