TUXEDO have refreshed their InfinityBook Pro 14 model with some impressive new internals that makes for a good all-round laptop if you can afford it. They said it's "way more" than just a refresh and that the previous models of InfinityBook Pro 14 had "quickly become one of the most popular TUXEDO laptops after its launch on 20th of May 2021".

What to expect from it? Quite a lot in a little package.

You can still order the original models which are in stock right now with either the Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 but the new stuff with the Intel Core i5-11300H and Core i7-11370H arrives in on October 20 but pre-orders can be placed right now.

The screen has also been improved on the newer models. Getting a bump from 1920 x 1200 to 2880 x 1800 pixels. When choosing what to pick on the graphics side you either get the Iris Xe Graphics G7 or with the top-end model that has the Core i7-11370H you get a choice with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4 GB Max-Q variant also being an option.

Available pre-configured with TUXEDO_OS 20.04 LTS (their version of Ubuntu), Ubuntu 20.04, Kubuntu 20.04 or Ubuntu Budgie 20.04. You can also get them to put your own logo on the back and your own keyboard template with laser etching.

Pricing starts at €1,180 for the original model and €1,770 for the top-end processor with the NVIDIA chip.

See more on the TUXEDO store.

I don't really mind the Intel CPU (Thunderbolt is nice) but we really need some Linux notebooks with dedicated AMD GPUs like the mobile RDNA2 series.

That's cool but I'd like more AMD instead.

There was a newsletter back in July - and reiterated again last month - about the lack of 5000 APUs, so there's not likely to be any refreshes with Ryzen for a while still.
Hopefully by the time they get some, the AMD chipsets will all have full USB4 support - which includes Thunderbolt functionality.

I hope some SteamDeck's Van Goghs with some faulty and deactivated cores find way into notebooks. Every production has scraps, and SteamDeck is really planned for massive production, so there might be enough of those failed chips.
