Want a really close view on the Steam Deck in action? Hellish Quart developer Kubold recently had a Steam Deck devkit delivered so they took a video.
Can't say I had heard of Hellish Quart until seeing the video either. It's a physics based, realistic, 3D sword duelling game set in the 17th century and you know what? It looks like a huge amount of fun actually! Not only that, it appears to now work just fine with Steam Play Proton. The developer mentioned they will be updating the game to have controller glyphs for the moves list, which it will need to get Verified properly and it's something that should benefit all gamepad players.
The video is about 3 minutes long, and it's easily one of the most chilled-out personal looks we've seen yet. Check it out in our embed below:

What do you think after seeing this? It's getting increasingly difficult to hold back the excitement.
That’s freakin awesome - for a game!
Oh wow. Why didn’t my HEMA bubble tell me about this before?

Actually, it does look rather good. Clearly an interesting game in that nobody's mentioning the Steam Deck aspect 'cause our attention got grabbed by the game.

Finally, a civilized fighting game! (Seriously it looks pretty fun)For some reason this made me think of:
"I have something here for you. Your father's Steam Deck. This is the device of a true gamer. Not as locked-down or as proprietary as a console. An elegant device for a more civilized time."
Do they plan a native version?

Heh, thx. Didn't watch Skal in years (and also revoked my Patreon sub - dude gets enough and really didn't need my few bucks so I felt the money better used for some smaller artist). Mebbe I should catch up sometimes.Oh wow. Why didn’t my HEMA bubble tell me about this before?

Often feels like it's running in slow motion. Especially in scenes with a lot of background graphics.
The approach of the game is great. The fights often last only a few seconds but can also go on for minutes.
Overall, however, the game still has some bugs and little content. 13€ is a steep price for it. Nevertheless, I had several hours of fun with it. At the moment, I'm only really enjoying the survival mode. I haven't played it against human opponents yet.
Kubold? The creator of Aliens, Trolls and Dragons, sadly abandoned? How do you know those things?
