Steam Lunar New Year Sale 2022 is now live

By -

Do you feel the need for some new games? Perhaps to continue building up a collection for the upcoming Steam Deck? Now is yet another chance for you with the Steam Lunar New Year Sale 2022. Not only is there a big sale but if you head over to the Points Shop, you'll also get a new sticker each day too.

Time to check out your Steam Wishlist to see if any goodies you want are discounted! Lots to choose from as always and it's never easy to pick between them all - what will you be buying? I might finally pull the trigger on Wasteland 3 at 67% off which hasn't seen a bigger discount yet. I can also happily suggest you grab Despot's Game: Dystopian Army Builder, which only has 20% off but it's a great game.

See the full sale on Steam. You can also try the SteamDB page for more filters and SteamDB also just updated their own Sales page to allow you to filter to Steam Deck, which shows a combined list of sales for both Playable and Verified titles.

Probably a good time to point out the list of Steam Deck Verified titles. For those of you wanting to play it really safe, here's the current list of as of publishing time (SteamDB):

  1. APE OUT
  2. Aliens: Fireteam Elite
  3. Castle Crashers
  4. Celeste
  5. Circuit Superstars
  6. Cuphead
  7. DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin
  8. DARK SOULS™ III
  9. Death's Door
  10. Death Stranding

  17. Hades
  18. HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED™
  19. Hollow Knight
  20. Into the Breach
  21. Life is Strange 2 (Episode 2 is listed by itself also Verified)
  22. LIMBO
  23. Mad Max
  24. Manifold Garden
  25. Mark of the Ninja: Remastered
  26. Noita
  27. Portal 2
  28. Psychonauts 2
  29. RAD
  30. Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth-
  31. Remnant: From the Ashes
  32. Risk of Rain 2
  33. Rogue Legacy 2
  34. SCARLET NEXUS
  35. Sable
  36. Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice
  37. Super Mega Baseball 3

  39. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
  40. The Messenger
  41. Total War: WARHAMMER II
  42. Tunche
  43. Twelve Minutes
  44. Webbed

We of course expect many more to be Deck Verified before the Steam Deck launch on February 25. It's already quite a nice list of fun titles though. If you also missed it, Easy Anti-Cheat recently got easier for developers to support the Steam Deck and Proton.

If you spot any really good deals do comment and let other readers know!

I'd like to know the Steam Deck rating for each of these. We're likely to see an immense increase in Linux gamers in a few weeks. :)

We're currently at about 0.3M monthly active gamers there and are hopefully bound to be in the millions within the next two years.

The rating as the article mentions is Verified for the list. There's only Verified, Playable and Unsupported.

1.3M monthly active. The 0.3M is how many have been on at the same time.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is %75 off. Haven't played it myself, but it's next on my list after I finish God Of War. Has Very Positive rating on Steam and a Platinum rating in ProtonDB.

Epic also launched a sale... this time only with one coupon, lol.

Their revenue numbers in 2021 have been abysmal. Just $300 million.

Noita, Dishonored, Mark of the Ninja, Portal 2 (in that order). £17.50 for four of the greatest games ever made. Honourable mention to Limbo too, which only adds a couple of quid.

For myself, I reckon I'll pick up Manifold Garden, which has a nice Antichamber vibe to it.

For those that might be interested (and don't mind a pre-alpha early access game that is playable with Proton) Ground Branch (tactical FPS) is at -30% for Steam Lunar New Year Sale (the game is not often on sale) and the 1032 update (new character assets, new weapons animations, improved audio and two new maps... firefights are now very enjoyable even if the OPFOR AI is not that great at the moment) has just hit the main branch of the game!

Picked up:
  • Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle - Native. Loved the demo, cute, funny, great artwork and you get to shout OBJECTION! a lot.

  • Dogs Organized Neatly - Not native, but made with Godot. It's a very simple game, but I loved Cats Organized Neatly for the artwork and the descriptions of the animals and these seems like heckin' good doggos!

  • Unavowed - I do love me a good adventure game and Wadjet usually delivers. Native and so fresh it still got that new Linux port smell....

Considering that I'm currently playing a game (for the first time) I bought on release date in 1998 I guess I'll get around to these somewhere around 2044....
