What's that? More Valve games will be able to run on the Steam Deck? You got that right. Both Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2 popped up recently. Earlier we saw that Half-Life 2 is now verified and we know this once again thanks to SteamDB, who track basically everything Steam.
Left 4 Dead 2 appears fully Verified for Steam Deck, so out of the box it should be a great experience overall. However, in the case of Team Fortress 2 it's only mentioned that it's Playable. For TF2 the issues seem to be a mix of text being too small and it doesn't have the best gamepad support. While on one hand it shows that Valve have work to do even for their owns games, on the other it shows they're at least honest about Deck compatibility.
It's no surprise to see Left 4 Dead 2 getting high marks though, since it did just get updated recently. Do you think Valve will ever go back and properly update TF2?
Will you be pumping hours into either of these on Deck? Let us know in the comments.
Quoting: STiATThey will be doing a TF2 update. I am pretty sure about that, but since they flagged it only playable, it's certeinly coming after the release, but they will do it. Most likely just too much to do to get it in time. That's some wishful thinking right there.

I do not think so. I do not even play TF, but valve has a record of bringing their IPs very late to new engines and often still rely on outdated features which are pretty much deprecated even using the current engine (or things which were in place since former engines did not support it and they never migrated to the capabilities provided on the new engine), in end they always did it, late, often years later but they did.
It will not take years this time. The time invested and devs are peanuts for Valve, and they do have a reason to do so.

Whatever you need to tell yourself man. Valve continually shows a utter lack of shits to give when it comes to TF2, often actively forcing developers off the team to work on other more """"valuable"""" projects. But, if you want to believe in them... Sure go ahead.
I doubt most players would put up with a 2-layer 16x16 touch menu and lots of chords.
