What we're seeing shape up here, is easily going to be the most incredible launch line-up of games for anything - ever. Place your bets, what do you think the total number of Deck Verified titles will be on February 25 when the Steam Deck hits the official launch?

This is only those titles fully Verified too as there's also now 111 titles that are marked as Playable like Factorio, RimWorld, The Witcher 3, Deep Rock Galactic, Valheim, Morrowind, Path of Exile and the list goes on. Some of the reasons being text too small, manual graphics settings adjustments needed, launchers, spotty gamepad support and so on. We expect many of the Playable titles to improve or even get Verified before the Steam Deck launches.

Have you decided on the first game you will be loading up yet?

Quoting: subThis recent news by a very influential German games news mag again
falsely writes that Valve promised that ALL games will be supported on the Deck.

https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/5-gruende-pro-steam-deck,3377491.html

This is not helpful.
Plus the tendentious point (among 5, why you should probably get the deck),
that you can wipe Linux and put Windows on the device.

I remember Gamestar saying that Valve had explicitly said to them that they're going to have every game working.

Would be very stupid by whomever (at Valve) to claim that.

Quoting: melkemindKind of funny to see Rocket League on there when it's no longer even available for sale. Valve is definitely "being the bigger man" in their conflict with Epic.
If there is one. They seem to have worked well together for the EAC issue. I am still amazed that Valve gave me a refund for Rocket League after Linux support was dropped. I had over 400 hours in it.

I think I was closer to 550 hours. And still I feel the refund was completely justified.

Quoting: mylkait is more surprising, that just hitman is on the list. 2+3 are basically the same game and but i wouldnt even play hitman 1. i would play it within hitman 2 with the new mechanics

Hitman is natively on Linux:
https://www.feralinteractive.com/de/games/hitman/

native, or proton does not matter if its platinum. it has the same mechanics so if you can play hitman, you should also be able to play 2+3
hitman 2 runs better with proton, than hitman 1 native. so as i said. i would play hitman 1 within hitman 2. it has more features

You asked why, I told you a plausible reason. If you don't believe it, well... maybe you've got a better explanation?

For anyone who wants a quick view of Proton compatibility when looking at the Steam page of a game:
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/439657-protondb-steamplay-integration

I was using the "Steam Play Compatibility Reports" script by DanMan for a while, but it's based on old data that hasn't been updated in quite some time. So I made my own version, which looks similar but uses current data.

Quoting: mtTho if there will ever be a mod that supports Gyro controls for Minecraft, that would be the non plus ultra.
Gyro support is already possible via 3rd party input remappers and IIRC you can already remap it to mouse or right stick via Steam's input tools, even for non-Steam games. I'll test it w/Minecraft and get back to you but my gut's telling me you shouldn't need a mod for that.
