Each day we're stepping ever close to the Steam Deck releasing and it seems Valve's testing is beginning to speed up, with now well over 200 titles now fully Steam Deck Verified. Around 6 days ago, it was only at 120.
The actual number is 243 according to the unofficial SteamDB tracker. An impressive amount of course though, one that absolutely dwarfs any of the modern console launches from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo and it's only going to get bigger before release.

If you include titles only tagged by Valve as "Playable", so they should still run but they will have certain issues from text that's too small to a single-player gaming needing online activation - there's 412 you can expect to see running out of the box.

Seeing Horizon: Zero Dawn on that list is so... I lack the word. A graphically demanding PlayStation exclusive advertised with full compatibility on a Linux handheld. Absolutely amazing. The fact that I can just barely run it on mid-to-low settings on my main PC is a little depressing by comparison 
. I hope I get to see actual footage of it being played on the Deck, but this kind of game endorsement is helping tip the balance in favour of buying one.

Steam input in the Steam client already (for years) allows using a controller to play games that only support keyboard/mouse. The fact that the Deck also has the touch pads, in addition to the sticks (like the Steam controller), means that mouse substitution will feel much better than using a stick.

Wine has a solid implementation of media foundation api calls. Since Proton uses wine as foundation, what is the problem?
