Humble have a Stand with Ukraine Bundle with 100% going to charity

Kinda wanted to donate at first, then I saw that starting amount is $40 and it has less everything in terms of quantity and things that interest me compared to itch's, which I've already paid for. Much as I want to donate, I'll have to skip - that minimal amount is too much for me and even if I earmarked next month's discretionary spending, I can't really justify it with that kind of contents (mainly because itch's was just much better).

They really are a shell of their former self at this point. Even with this big of a bundle and for 100% charity, it's just... mediocre for what they're asking.

1, it's for charity, and 2, even if the games are worse, many would prefer steam keys.
I get my Steam Deck on Monday, so the steam keys are worth far more than any other PC key or even DRM-free download.

There are other ways to donate, so being critical about Humble Bundle doesn't mean not donating at all. itch.io ended their bundle yesterday, but as always, charities accept also direct donations if you actually want to donate instead of essentially buying games (Humble Bundle being the party that is actually donating).

What I would recommend from what I have actually played are:

Slay the Spire: quite influential rogue lite card game
Drawful 2: If you have friends, try this one out (great thing is that phones are used as controllers, so non gamers can also play)
Superhot: The time moves only when you move shooter. If you have ever wanted to be in action movie, try this one out.
Broken Age: This one is quite enjoyable adventure game.
System Shock: I have only played the original. It's basically sci-fi FPS RPG from time when good conventions where still in bit of a flux. The enhanced edition in the bundle should fix lot of the issues.
Hexologic: Enjoyable puzzle game. Even more so if you're not totally allergic to math.

It's a full charity bundle, completely different to normal bundles and they've always done this for them. Otherwise, people will just pay the $1 to get a bunch of Steam keys to resell.

More and more people just come to complain about anything I've noticed.

Considering that Ukraine is accepting foreign fighters is this really "standing" with Ukraine ? I mean anyone could literally go and actually stand with them. Maybe stuff like this could be changed to "typing with Ukraine" or "donating with Ukraine".

This is being critical for the sake of being critical and it's pretty damn sad.

This. I might have gotten the bundle if it had had a cheaper option and/or more games that actually interest me, but I’ve already made a direct donation to the Red Cross that was 100% matched by my government, so anything more I give to this kind of fundraiser will need to actually be appealing to me as a purchase. This one isn’t, for me, but of course it’s good that they are contributing in any way.

And since donating to charity is tax-deductible (where I live at least), I can essentially give more support for the same personal cost by using traditional channels rather than this kind of campaign, so I have no qualms considering this bundle as a product and personal purchase first and foremost. If my chief concern were to contribute to the cause as much as I can, I would look elsewhere.

So bottom line, I’m glad that companies are making this kind of bundle to entice people who wouldn’t straight up donate otherwise, but I agree that a $50 minimum is going to turn off a lot of folks right off the bat. Multiple tiers would have been nice.

Jealous! Mine is slotted in the Q2 range.

Ha, some are complaining about the minimum. I spent enough that they said they had to personally verify it... and I basically have probably 80-90% of the games already.

I also already got the itch.io bundle. But the quality of games on there are quite a bit lower than the ones on the humble bundle. A lot were random RPGs, I'll have to trudge through those to see if any are good at some point.

But most importantly, this is for helping people out!

it's a very great bundle, i bought it today. I had bought the itch Bundle for Ukraine last week and now, i bought the bundle on Humble too. too much really great games for less money and also donating for Ukraine. i love it!

I was tempted at first but then realized i don't buy to stop a war and i don't satisfy ukrainians and russians gamers cause they can't buy this bundle.

And my steam library is mad at me if i buy more.

Decided to grab this to support Ukrainian humanitarian relief efforts before looking at the games it contained. After purchase I was very pleased with the game selection. I got the itch one as well but I doubt I'll ever get round to installing any itch games. Pretty happy to see my money go directly to a diverse set of relief organizations that I would never have donated to directly.
