Here's your chance to help test another upcoming native Linux build, as Daniel Mullins Games have put up a Beta you can try for Inscryption. This is the massively popular game that blends together deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror.

In the announcement they said "With Kaycee's Mod wrapping up and with some help from a new member of the Inscryption team, we are finally tackling the Mac and Linux ports. Playtesting it will help us out a lot!". You can opt-in with the password "mealwormsigil" and then give it a spin.

Giving it a run myself after picking up a copy (pictured above from the Beta), it seems to run great. Haven't spotted any obvious issues so far. Also, wow — this is a really weird game. Considering it's the same developer as Pony Island, I'm not exactly surprised though!

Once it's out of Beta and ready for everyone, we will let you know.

You can buy it for a Steam key on Humble Store or Steam directly.

Not sure what I did wrong, but it only installs a folder named "EmptySteamDepot" for me 🤨

There are some comments from people about testing it already, I guess they're using proton and don't realize it?

Without a password for a locked branch?
With the password, again it's noted in the article.

Sniped my comment edit. :D

Well, I obviously entered the password correctly, otherwise the branch wouldn't be listed, but it clearly isn't downloading any files for me (and for some others, based off of comments on Steam and Daniel Mullins' discord)

Something got fixed, it's working for me now.

Nice, I hope it will come on GOG after the tests.

Very cool news. Inscryption was my GOTY last year, highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it yet (just don't spoil yourself, this game is wild).
