SCS Software are showing off all the advancements made to Euro Truck Simulator 2 over the years, with a brand new video to showcase it. Plus, there's a new Beta available.

Their last proper trailer was back in 2012, and with how many huge upgrades they've given the game it was of course very much overdue for a proper trailer to show it off. It's not just that though, the game is approaching 10 years old (yes, really!) and so it's a good way to mark the occasion:

They're also teasing something very special for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the trucking sim.

On top of that, Euro Truck Simulator 2 version 1.44 is now in Open Beta for owners of the game to try out the latest upcoming changes. This new build includes an Austria Rework, Companies Logos Revision, a Mod Refund Feature for those who play the Convoy mode, an Accurate Mileage System for road signs, Unmarked Roads Exploration with advisor notifications, an upgrade to Force Feedback and more. SCS truly showing how much they love their own game to keep pumping out free upgrades like this.

You can buy ETS2 from Humble Store and Steam.

Ahh I'm excited! I unironically love this sim, especially in VR :D
Massive respect to SCS for also serving a fantastic native port

Never tried it in VR. How is it? Does it have any special controls?

Not really, just come as you are! I use mouse and keyboard to play the game with and without my HMD on. In terms of the experience itself it's quite comfortable once you tweak it to your liking (and computer's limits).

I tried it with a G27 a few years ago, but in ETS2 specifically I actually prefer mouse and keyboard because there's so many buttons you need to keep track of. Noticed on your Steam profile you play ETS2 as well, so you probably know what I mean.

Positional audio works a charm. Nothing beats cruising the Autobahn in rainy weather while using the game's internet radio function <3

So you can drive through your local town whilst listening to the local radio station ?

Precisely this! I just realized what you meant, I didn't realize when I wrote that sentence but "positional audio" is the term I used for 3D audio (sound effects), not geolocating radio streams. My bad!

You can add any online radio stream you want. I manually switch to stations that are actually in the country I'm driving in
