It's that time of the year again: a reminder that we are entirely funded by readers and we could use your support!

As Linux gaming continues to mature and change in the era of the Steam Deck, we appear to be getting more readers than ever before which is amazing. Native Linux games continue to appear, while Proton continues advancing towards enabling more Windows games to work on Linux too, there's never a dull moment.

We're different to many other sites as we don't chase content numbers for adverts, we just cover what we think you might be interested in plus plenty of sprinkles of what we're directly interested in too. There's also plenty of YouTube videos and Twitch livestreams too!

This does mean we depend on you, our wonderful readers.

If you can donate or regularly support us, here's where you can do so: Firstly, if you wish to get specific reward tiers and access to special things when we have them you can do so on Patreon.

All other plain donations, without any special rewards can be done by:

You can also buy games using our affiliate/partner links:

You can find all the links to support us on our dedicated page any time.

As always, our inbox is open if you wish to know anything or you wish us to work on a feature to improve the site. Always happy to hear from readers and game developers. Check out our contact page on how to reach us.

Thank you for continuing to read and support GamingOnLinux!

I really need to do this now.
GoL is among my five most visited sites for years.

I use your Humble and GOG links whenever possible (I grabbed Duck Game via your recent report on it being patched to run better under Proton), and I need to get some more stuff from the GOL merch store soon, too - hopefully that'll send a bit more your way!
DO I have to use https://af.gog.com/game/xxxxxxxxx?as=1636858786 on every gog purchase, including wallet funds, or just once in the main site?

All purchases, same for Humble, as the cookie used to store our partner ID don't last long.
Edit: to be clear, clicking once and then buying multiple things is fine. But the ID cookie isn't a permanent thing of course, it will have an expiry date on it.

Just saying this here as a long time reader: Thank you for everything Liam! GOL is truly the best linux gaming news site there is. And thanks for putting up with our not always constructive or civil discussions and letting us comment!

I feel like this article will get lost in the sea of new articles seen as there is so much going on with the steamdeck.
Would it be too much to add this story to your top banner ( the one where PopOS is now ) in fact i kind of like the way steam does the sliding adverts on the main page with the buttons to press to the next game or sale. Perhaps you could have the PopOS article and ten seconds later to slide to your Support Article on a rotation.

At the very least use an animated GIF on the article to attract peoples attention. The thumbnail in itself isn't really standing out.

just some positive feedback is all, as a fan you understand.

Totally get what you're saying, the feedback on that is appreciated, sometimes big news just drops but I'll think on other better ways to highlight it and might do it a little more often rather than 1-2x a year.

There should be a "Patreon Linking" link in your User CP.

Thanks! Didn't read far enough.

PS: To Be honest, I still don't understand all of it. If you're not automatically matched, you can set your supporter mail address, if that doesn't work, you can manually link - but the manual link text suggests that automatic linking is not yet working? Or not being reliable yet?
