Sprout Valley looks quite sweet. A game where you play as Nico, a cute cat that has stepped away from their busy life to clean up a tiny island and create a nice farm. One I missed that had a successful Kickstarter that finished earlier this month.

It's like a mini accessible animal-based Stardew Valley. You plant and water your crops, collect resources and sell them to keep progressing. There's a dynamic weather system, which the developer said will add-in some additional mechanics to the game too. What really makes it interesting is that each island is procedurally generated with a seed system, so you can play through the game an endless amount of times and share world seeds with others.

The developer said it will also feature an events system, a full storyline, foraging, fishing, multiple islands, a quest system, an upgrades system and the list goes on.

Looks like one we're going to need to keep an eye on.

You can try out the experimental builds from itch.io right now and wishlist on Steam. Made with Godot Engine, it offers Native Linux support.

As a kid I absolutely loved Harvest Moon and wished there were more games like it...

It seems now the market is getting flooded with them. Which is not a bad thing on it's own. They just generally take so much time to play and I don't have the unlimited amount of free time I used to have. I'm looking forward to getting my Steam Deck and being able to play stuff like this on the go.

I think they missed a trick by having the player character sleep in a bed, rather than say on top of the dresser, table, or mailbox.

Looks like a nice and relaxing game.

It looks cute, but I don't know if it's different enough from Stardew Valley.
