I've recently started a new run at Hellpoint. Bloody good game but very challenging, so I only play in short bursts to avoid the rage!

I want to say this game is NOT a Souls-Like. Because I can actually play this game and not get so frustrated with it that I want to do the ol' bag of crap on fire on From Software's doorstep. 😜
(Please note I am being a bit overboard, I am far too lazy for such things.)

Tried playing this game, but the controls are too awkward for me and eventually just left it.

I loved Hellpoint so much that I ended up buying a FromSoftware game - Dark Souls 3. It was rubbish. Very pretty graphics, but unlike Hellpoint, the monsters in DS3 "cheat" by many of them having unlimited stamina. That means that every fight is a basically just a test of your reactions, which becomes extremely tedious. Hellpoint had a really nice balance in this regard, that the monsters would eventually have a cool down that you could exploit between attacks. Still brutal, but fairly so.
Elden Ring has much the same problem, but at least in that game you can just farm extra levels if you find a fight too difficult.

(Talking about Elden Ring)
