Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a gorgeous looking story-driven, action adventure that was exclusive to the Epic Store but the time is up and it's coming to Steam now. It's also been Steam Deck Verified ahead of release.
I'm liking this trend of seeing more and more games getting that verification before release, hopefully this will continue happening! The only issue this game has on Steam Deck according to the compatibility notes, is that you might need to manually switch the controllers around in the Deck UI if you use an external controller.

Kena is great fun. Nothing groundbreaking, but very competent all around. Awesome Souls-like boss combat, too, especially on higher difficulty.

The visuals remind me of Beyond Good and Evil. And now that I've mentioned that masterpiece, I want to play it again! I think I owned a physical copy of that game... I wonder what the options are for replay now.

I was really interrested by this game when it was first announced, but then I read "Epic exclusive". Ok then, this game... Does... Not... Exists and wiped it from my memory. Thus, I'm surprised to hear that one year as already passed. Nice! I might pick it up.
By the way, I'm not trying to convince anyone to do like I do, but, personnally, I found it's pretty easy to skip the Epic Exclusive stuff. I'm not falling for that "FOMO" feeling, particularly in single player games. And I'm even happier that I did, now that I have my Steam Deck and knowing that a properly supported version of the game will be available in the Steam store.
Are the update goodies available on Epic Games too or are they "Steam exclusives"?

If the Windows version can be made to run, great, but there's always the option of emulating one of the console versions if that doesn't work. Obviously I have no idea which version you had, or what you'd want to go with here.

I wonder what the options are for replay now. It's £4.29 on Steam, rated Silver on ProtonDB, and marked Playable on the Deck. It looks like it needs some detailed massaging to work properly. Its regular sales discount is 70% or a price of £1.28.

Plenty of games out there, I can wait another year if publishers prefer Epic’s money to mine.

Let the EGS users be the beta testers!

Epic with their well-known traditional pro-Linux attitude (/s) in combination with artificial scarcity immediately and permanently marks the dev as either greedy or at least, utterly uncaring about how they are perceived.

The title, in combination with the image, conjured associations with "Kaena" which was a kind of groundbreaking CG movie back when that wasn't a thing yet. It looks a bit dated by now, but still worth a watch. I wonder if there are any connections with the creative team around it and The Saga of Ryzom (college buddies AFAIK), and this game.
Other than that, I'll go and watch the promo video now, but from the article, it doesn't sound like the type of game is just my cup of tea.
