A huge advancement for the PlayStation 3 emulator project RPCS3 as it now has support for Save States, which is pretty awesome.

For those who don't know: Save States are not like normal Save Data. What it does it take an exact snapshot of what is happening, so you can re-load to that exact state of the game at another time and it could be while you're anywhere and doing anything in any game. A lot of other emulators already support such a feature.

The new feature was announced on Twitter, with one of their team mentioning on Reddit:

We didn't think it was realistically feasible several years ago, but after a lot of work, it's here!

Some savestates will be of a couple GBs of size depending on the game, and there are still certain limitations, but those are just small issues in the grand scheme of things.

With it now in, they can continue improving it and there are some limitations to be aware of. Like right now if you do a Save State, the game will close. You can just reboot it to carry on and the Save State will be sorted as it's just a technical hurdle they will overcome at some point. In future, major updates to RPCS3 might be incompatible with older Save States too but you could just continue running an older version for it.

I wouldn't mind another playthrough of MGS4, but I'd need a DVD drive

What was actually good on PS3? Not that I'm likely to play it since I don't really have any nostalgia for this machine, but I'm curious because this seems to be a big hole in my game knowledge.

H.A.W.X 2. Not really a masterpiece but Windows version is killed by DRM (entirely! Entirely as in "cannot be launched" and "delisted from Steam") so your options are to crack or emulate either Xbox 360 or PS3.

I never got around to trying Killzone 2, which was an exclusive. Looked good though.
Edit: Demon Souls!

Quite a lot of Japanese exclusive ones. It might not be "good" to a lot of people, but Ar nosurge is still a PS3/PS4 exclusive for their English version. Lots of Japanese games never received a port either.
