While plenty of people use apps like Lutris, Heroic and Bottles there's also Minigalaxy which is a dedicated launcher just for GOG on Linux. The community doing what GOG don't huh? A new release went up recently with some pretty big new features. Still managing to keep it all simple though, with a pretty good looking way to download your games and DLC.
Some of what's new in version 1.2.0 / 1.2.1 includes:
- Split game information and properties into different windows.
- Add list view.
- Allow DLC to be queued up for downloading.
- Always use cached DLC icons and thumbnails.
- Cache information covers.
- Allow setting wine executable per game.
- Add GameMode support.
- Add MangoHud support.
- Add option to use Winetricks.
- Show percentage when hovering over download progress bar.
- Add option to disable update check per game.
- Add forum, GOG Database and PCGamingWiki URLs to game information.
- List genre as unknown in game information when none is found.
- Improve error handling upon API errors.
- Add Greek, Spanish, Norwegian Bokmål, Czech and Romanian translations.
- Lots of bug fixes.
Sounds like a pretty great release!

Well, that's a pretty nice sounding update. I'ma have to run download that right now. GOG should learn a thing or three from them (but they likely won't)…

Might have to check it out. Prefer Heroic for the moment since I can use existing Proton and have Steam Big Picture shortcuts though

Exactly the kind of launcher I would like gog galaxy to be. Even on windows I never used that software.
It would be perfect if it could use the cloud for savegames.
Unrelated matter but I always wondered why there is no software backing up all game saves in one click. With for instance on the website of the editor a request system where you could send the savegame path for an unlisted game.
Therefore you could have a simple tool. Displaying all the list of your games installed, then you could tick the one you wanted to backup the saves with a location button where you give the path of the place you want to backup. (i.e partitions or external HDD...)
There could also be some function for instance to add cloud backup account like google drive, mega.nz and other services alike, so you could send them straight away from the same software.

Heroic launcher is another one that's improved dramatically over it's development. Again, Epic could learn a lot from them as well… Again, unlikely they will. Too many corporate "bean-counters" with dollar signs in their eyes "stepping over dollars to pick up dimes"… They just can't grasp that the way to increase profits long-term and reliably is foster a loyal fan-base that repeat buys from you on a regular basis, rather than an angry hateful mob that will actively go to any of your competition rather than spend a single thin dime with you.

Alternatively, they could officially support, and contribute to, projects such as this.

It's cross platform, unlike Gamesave Manager.

Don't forget that "bean counter" performance is also measured short-term!
It'as if everything was designed to prioritize short-term gains, up to th CEO and shareolders... by design?

If only… I'd have likely bought quite a few games from them by now if only they'd gone even that far, but nope. For the most part, Steam / Valve gets the majority of my business, either directly or via Humble Bundle / Humble Store.
