Recently Red Dead Redemption 2 had a big update which amongst other things, added in FidelityX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0. Sadly, it broke it on Linux and Steam Deck but Valve already have a fix out but you need to pick it manually for now.
Valve updated Proton Experimental with the fix needed to get it working again, showing how they're clearly paying attention to some of the bigger games.
Additionally the September 7th update of Proton Experimental also got these games working:
- Deathsmiles II
- Primal Carnage: Extinction
Note: for Proton Experimental on Desktop Linux, you now need at least Mesa 22 / Nvidia drivers 510.47 or newer. Changelog available here.
Here's a quick run over the changes and a quick-look at Red Dead Redemption 2 running again on Steam Deck:

Quoting: ColorblindmonkWell, experimental attempts to fix RDR2. The game's still practically unplayable unless you only plan on playing the game in 30 minute intervals.
Was playing chapter 4 when i received the update. Now it launches with proton experimental, but can confirm the game breaks after 30 minutes or so...

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Fairly certain it should be required for me to do so. Just waited for more fixes to be released. Huge fan of the Cyberpunk Genre, and it is one poorly represented in video games.Quoting: slaapliedjeThis just reminds me that I really should start playing Red Dead Redemption 2... but I also have Cyberpunk to play...
Goods news you miss nothing by not playing cyberpunk

Hi,
I was searching for days how to launch RDR2. Looking protoondb it seems possible but users profile show latest nvidia driver
Thanks for writing it in note : "Nvidia drivers 510.47 or newer"
I missed that information and lost a lot of time tweaking files
Just waiting a new package in Debian repo
